IMO it's the cable that is the issue. All of mine have failed because of the cable, the longest lasting being my E2c's, they held out for about a year before the cable split around the ear. My other shures gave up a couple of months ago and lasted about 6 months, and my UE's lasted about 6...

It's obviously your money and your decision. However i would think long and hard about it, maybe even try and get in touch with Westone about the seller, see if he's registered. Are they second hand or new? I got in touch with iheadphones.co.uk asking them if they could beat a price on amazon...

I bought the super.fi 5 pro's a over 18 months ago. The sound disappeared in from the right monitor. I bought a replacement cable and the sound once again disappeared this time after a day or two. I've put the left cable on the right monitor and it works fine whilst the right cable doesn't work...

The cable for my Super.fi's lasted about 8 months. I bought a replacement cable and didn't even work out of the package. Enough said.

I'm very confused now. I want bass but don't want my head blown off; this is the impression get from the IE8's. I haven't listened to music for 3 weeks at least now. I need some earphones badly.

I've just read a thread by a guy who seems to be in love with his Audio Technica ATH-CK10's. Can i compare these with the IE8's which seem to be the ones i'm heading for? (them or the westone 3's which i might buy anyway just because.)

Also is it possible to get custom tips for the IE8's and are custom tips as good as i've read?

Actually how do the IE8's compare to the similarly priced Westone UM2's or Westone 2's? One last go.

Didn't even consider JVC. Can't find a price for them anywhere or where to buy them from. They aren't released yet right? The Turbine Pro just seem too expensive. I can get a pair of Westone 3's for 30-40 quid more if i want to spend that much.
