Yea, with the 650 I have the volume knob sitting at 12 usually, but of course it depends on the recording.- bastogne

Impressions on the Musical Fidelity M1 HPA
Cifani.. 1. It's not out yet 2. You started two threads asking the exact same question 3. You do not need to continue bumping either thread, nobody has the amp yet, we'll let you know as soon as it's actually released.- bastogne

Also, I should add that I have only tested the single ended output, I haven't even tried it through balanced, and it still sounds very impressive.- bastogne

Lake People V181: a new balanced amp <$1000
So I pulled the trigger on the V181, Ive been listening all day and it sounds absolutely excellent. It sounds significantly better than the Yamamoto HA-01 with a variety of headphones if that helps anybody...- bastogne

Yamamoto Sound Craft HA-02
I would like to add that this amp is much more beautiful in person than the pictures show. The build quality is tremendous, very Japanese in the attention put into the craftsmanship and fine details.- bastogne

Review: Peachtree Audio Nova
indeed it is a bargain. on top of everything you just said, you also get to experience tube and solid state whenever you want! when I'm listening to music, I leave it in solid state mode, but when I watch TV, I end up turning the tube on to take some of that harsh edge off from the...- bastogne

The "Digital SLR that isn't Canon or Nikon" Thread
Hey, cool to see a thread on this. I JUST got my Pentax k-x (white). It is my first dslr and I'm pretty darn excited. I'm still learning how to use it though. Would any of you who owns one of these recommend something. I keep hearing people say I should get some type of filter to...- bastogne

Halide Design Bridge - Async USB converter
this is a little off topic, but can someone explain to me why using one of these would be more beneficial than just using the optical out on my macbook? isnt using toslink inherently better than going through USB no matter how could the USB design is?- bastogne

Confused: Vinyl(Analog) vs Digital
This is a really good post, I also have kind of a cloudy understand of this. So if an album mixed and mastered in a largely digital domain was then pressed (the same version) to vinyl and cd. It should be theoretically possible to replicate the EXACT same sound as the turntable with a...- bastogne

Headphone Reccomendation (Tight, Loud, Punchy Bass)
I posted this in a similar thread a few minutes ago, but I have owned the Pro 650, Pro 750, Pro 900 and Edition 8. For your needs, I would recommend the 650, because out of all of those headphones it has the most prominent sub bass.- bastogne

Headphone Recommendations?
I have owned numerous Ultrasone headphones, I listen to the same type of music as you and I would recommend the Pro 650. I'm currently using the edition 8 and Pro 900 which are definitely better headphones, but don't have that deep sub bass that the 650 has, which is why im considering buy a...- bastogne
