Denon D2000 D7000 Wood Cup swap
Mine involved drilling, for the simple reason that I didn't want to do anything irreversible. So rather made holes into the wood (no big deal).- polarwarrior

Denon D2000 D7000 Wood Cup swap
The D5K cable is quite OK, doesn't tangle as the factory D2K and looks ...denonish. :) And from now on you can describe the procedure to others, yours are the fourth D27Ks I know of, _if_ mine were the first.. your English is better than mine :-)- polarwarrior

Denon D2000 D7000 Wood Cup swap
Quote: It is "physically possible" but a little tricky. When one disassembles the thing and compares the factory cups with the wood ones, it is clear where to make some holes into the protrusions in the mahogany, practically with a screwdriver or similar. The mahogany, fortunately, is so...- polarwarrior

Does the MarkL mod really make that much of a difference?? (Update: yes it does)
You are very right, but just a few arguments. First of all, sorry for my English, it´s not my first language. Anyway. 1) What if you are, say, a woman? (I am.) How many women can do it, are skilled enough and dare to mod? (OK another question would be, how many of them are aware of headphone...- polarwarrior

Denon D5000 w/ the MarkL Mods and Jenna Re-Cable
I re-cabled mine (D2000) with D7000 cable plus put on the D7000 original wood cups. Pretty much the same impression. Quote: Originally Posted by HeadphoneAddict Just adding the dampened Mahogany cups and stuffing the earpads of the D2000, even without the rest of the...- polarwarrior

Cable differences between Denon AH-D5000 and AH-D2000 (w/ pic)
Well I have managed to fit them. It was easier than I thought. The diameter of the cups is OK. They don´t fit because of the small plastic posts behind the driver (4). I think it is possible to slicing them off, however this would have been irreversible. Therefore I have decided to mod the wood...- polarwarrior

Cable differences between Denon AH-D5000 and AH-D2000 (w/ pic)
First impressions: It´s better now than it was after about 250 hours burn-in with the default D2k cable. Actually I think I will stop here (apart from changing to D7k wood earcups, as soon as I figure out how exactly that could be done), I like the bass as it is now -- no further damping...- polarwarrior

Cable differences between Denon AH-D5000 and AH-D2000 (w/ pic)
Hello folks I´ve re-cabled my D2000 now with the factory D7000 cable. Have been looking for a relatively cheap re-cabling option and decided to try this one. I also replaced the factory 1/4" jack by a Switchcraft right-angle jack. Here are a few shots to show the cross-section of the...- polarwarrior
