DOH, didn't read the OP closely enough.   The grado phones have virtually no sound isolation from the environment and leak a large amount of sound. This is a pretty big factor if you have background noise of any significant level.   The Beyerdynamics are a little big for on the go usage...

Pro 900s sound great without a dedicated amp and gain further refinements from more juice. They may be a little quiet on an internal sound card especially if you use replay gain.  The Hfi series have more sensitivity and less impedance than the Pro series, and they require amping even less.

I got my proline 750 off eBay semi recently for about 180 shipped, and the picture looks pretty convincing to me. IMO they are very much worth it for that price.
