    Do I have tinnitus?

Quote: No. It has to be a notch at the 4K frequency.

    Do I have tinnitus?

Quote:   Indeed, but if it is only noticed in quiet environments and has no accompanying symptoms, then I don't think it is medically significant.

    Do I have tinnitus?

I remember our professor told us that if we are put in an absolutely quiet room, 90% of us will be hearing tinnitus. I'd say if you only hear tinnitus in very quiet environments then it is normal. If it is loud enough to an extent that you easily hear it in relatively noisy environments then you...

    Hearing loss?

Quote: The sound is so shifted towards the left ear to the extent that it seems my right ear is deaf because it isn't receiving any sounds. I had to set the left channel to half the volume of the right channel for the sound to be balanced out. At these settings, when I open a mono track...

    Hearing loss?

Here's a hearing test I did on the internet: The right ear is the red line and the left ear is the blue line. I did it on a Koss Pro-35 (has the same guts as the KSC-75 but different housing). My right ear seems to have a slight deficit at 6K . I repeated the test with the same result. I think...

    Hearing loss?

Do you have any recommendations for headphones or music players that allow balancing the sound levels for each ear individually? Ideally I should be able to assign a volume for each frequency range for each ear...

    Hearing loss?

My left ear is louder than my right ear. My audiologist did a hearing test and contrary to my expectations the right ear turned out slightly better than the left one, and both ears didn't have a significant hearing loss. My doctor told me I was fine and when I asked him about my left ear being...

Low quality phones force you into listening at lower volumes to avoid distortion. High quality phones can tolerate excessively high volumes and still produce crisp sounds. So on the long term, you are more liable to hearing loss from Hi-fi headphones if you aren't taking care.

    $30 Budget...Shopping for an IEM...in Egypt

Here's an update. I bought the Sparkplugs for $15, and here's my experience with them: I'm very satisfied with their comfort (despite being in-ear) and isolation (can hardly hear my keyboard strokes now even without any music running). However I find the mute button useless and annoying...
