I have a set of Yuin PK3s and have grown to love their warm, natural sound.    I have been trying to find a pair of affordable IEMs that will roughly match their sound. Open, natural, warm, a bit of bass (but not gobs of it)   For some reason the ECCI PR200s caught my eye on Jokers...

  Meelec have loads of earphones under $30 and they have excellent customer service should anything go wrong.      If you like bass, the M9 is $25 I think and is an old favourite.     http://www.meelec.com/category_s/358.htm     But hey if you liked the Sonys then no harm is sticking...

I have the M9s which apparently share the same drivers & I don't hear much sibilance really, even with the stock tips.

I found when amped they sound a little more balanced. Yes the low end is a little exaggerated but not as much as some people claim. Many people come from headphones which under-exaggerate the bass - where the exact line of 'balance' is is kind of relative to the listener too. 

Well I'd say my m9s are at least the equivelent of my old Super.Fi 3s which are a model above the metro fi's - plus everyone raves about meelec customer service. That said, if you have some good quality tips lying around you can get even better value out of the m9s. I use modded shure olives...

I found the stock biflanges good enough (for the overall price) but I couldn't really get the single flanges deep enough to get a really good seal. Incidently I modified a pair of shure olives I had lying around. Wow! The sound is thicker and meatier, less harshness in the upper midrange too...
