The Audiophile Bass Lounge (Basshead club part II)
Tried out the SONY MDR-XB90EXs some time ago. Is it me or are these iems way underpriced for the sub bass it can deliver? It is my understanding that iems can have more sub bass than headphones due to its seal. As a frame of reference, these beat the sub bass of my DT 770s and HE 400s. What are...- ZaWorld

New York mini meet : Hifiman He-1000 Impressions thread
I auditioned these headphones for 10 minutes and these are my overall impressions as a junior headfi. Take what you will with a grain of salt. 1. Aesthetics/Build Quality: From a glance the headphones looks well constructed and made from high quality materials. I expected them to feel...- ZaWorld

Thanks for all the input everyone. I have a better idea where to go from here on out. I can rethink the amp if I ever decide to upgrade my headphones.- ZaWorld

Amp and Excess Power Need Perspective
I run a o2/dac combo which can easily drive my headphones. This is why I think more power may not be the right answer.- ZaWorld

Amp and Excess Power Need Perspective
I currently have 500-700 to spend on an amp, but I am unsure what I should be doing at this point. I already have a neutral amp/dac combo driving my HD 650 and HE400s. Would it make sense to upgrade to a more powerful neutral amp or should I start looking at sound distortion qualities of tube...- ZaWorld

Best Chinese or Asian earphone?
I agree with above that best should be tuned to what you want in a sound signature. Though I suppose the only way you can really find out is through experimenting. That being said you cannot go wrong checking out HiFiman's many wide range of products. Have fun and sorry about your wallet- ZaWorld

Alternative upgrade from DT 770 PRO 80
I think I will explore dark open headphones based on all your suggestions. I may have to buy a different amp if I want to bring out the musicality of the cans.- ZaWorld

Alternative upgrade from DT 770 PRO 80
So you both believe the fatigue is not caused by the closed nature? What is it that I hate about the DT 770s then, because these headphones are well known for its comfort.- ZaWorld

Alternative upgrade from DT 770 PRO 80
I originally bought the DT 770 PRO 80s to listen to EDM music. While the phones contained plenty of bass, I felt it was missing something important. I assumed I did not like the closed sound signature of the DT 770s.The phones sounded unnatural and most importantly gave me a lot of fatigue...- ZaWorld

AKG Q701 Questions
I had the impression that the Q701 barely had any bass like my re0s. I consider the grado sr60 to have decent bass though not overwhelming bass. That being said, it appears I can look forward to listening to Hans Zimmer on the Q701s.- ZaWorld

AKG Q701 Questions
Lately been considering an upgrade to my Grado sr60s, and it seems the AKG Q701s fit my taste of music. I keep hearing about the lack of bass in the Q701s and I want to know if anyone can give me some perspective on this issue. Is it safe to say the Q701s will have less bass than say a TF10...- ZaWorld

[REVIEW] Head-Direct RE0 - a new contender for the best IEM
@ClieOS how are you storing the re0s and putting them on? I constantly have to adjust mine from falling out. I don't know if this made the cable snap or the driver loose. Alternatively, it could be the stock case that caused the cable to bend too much.- ZaWorld

Head-Direct RE0 Appreciation Thread
Would recabling extend the life of the Re0s? I just had my second pair die out on me in a year. I am considering upgrading to the re ZEROS but am afraid the build quality might be the same. By the way how do you all store/clean your re0s? I am beginning to think storing it in the stock case is a...- ZaWorld

[REVIEW] Head-Direct RE0 - a new contender for the best IEM
I finally got a chance to listen to the RE0s. In sum, they sound different every time I listen to them. Sometimes they sound great and sometimes they sound flat. Maybe it depends on the listening environment since the RE0s do not completely block out sound. I found the RE0s to sound best with...- ZaWorld
