Crazy comparison? Etymotic ER4-SR vs Ollo S4 (S4X)
Honestly i don't mind. I was half considering the in ear isolation Etymotic because I have my computer near a fridge which makes a high pitched noise and my computer, which also makes a noise (fan from graphics card and the power supply is bad). I find this atmosphere quite fatiguing too...- XenatR

Crazy comparison? Etymotic ER4-SR vs Ollo S4 (S4X)
Hi guys, I need to buy a new pair of headphones and can't decide whether to go with IEM or Headphone. My requirements are an ultra neutral sound, with no sibilance or heavy bass. I want to hear the music as the producer intended and don't want and frequencies too forward of one another I...- XenatR

Does it even exist?
Hi! Imaging being, with reference to gaming, the ability to pinpoint an enemies location on a certain 3d field. This is different to soundstage, which, in the case of the AKG, is large, but it is difficult to 'imagine' an enemy location. Soundstage and Imaging are mutually exclusive imo- XenatR

Does it even exist?
Need: To find a balanced, monitoring headphone for gaming (csgo, bf3) and classical music (with some Pantera [groove metal] thrown in!). Imaging is key, especially depth, front to back. Also need a dac/amp (I have Creative BlasterX G6 but want to upgrade - perhaps Feliks tubes?). I want a sound...- XenatR

HD650 or SRH1840
Hi, sorry for bringing up an old thread, but I am considering between the 1840 and 700. Which ways do the 1840 compare favourably to the 700? I am after a headphone for classical music, opera, a little folk here and there and gaming (fps)- XenatR

Review by 'XenatR' on item 'Venture Electronics (VE) Monk+/Monk Plus'
I tuned mine this way for listening to classical music and it has made them come alive. Absolutely spectacular. The difference eq makes for gaming is sensational. I hopped into a game of Battlefield 3, applied the above eq and just listened for a moment in awe of the immersion they created...- XenatR

* RME ADI-2 Dac * vs * SMSL SU-8 + Drop + THX AAA 789 *
Hi all, I am a complete beginner when it comes to DAC/AMP but I have been bitten by a strong bug and I cannot shake my urge to build a one-off (End Game), strong, foundation to all future sound systems and to bring out the very best in each headphone/iem i have and will have in the future. My...- XenatR

For gaming, is TinHiFi T2 Pro better or T3?
Don't ruin my dream of gaming on IEMs :[ I've had people tell me that some of the IEMs are better for gaming than a HD 650, from first hand experience- XenatR

Are there any IEMs which compare to high end headphones especially for gaming?
Hi all, I've been searching for answers but cannot find anything specific really to my question. I guess there aren't many people wanting IEMs for gaming etc? My initial thought was to replace my failing Audio Technica A900 (i love their signature) and go for an open back headphone with better...- XenatR

Open headphones similar to the Audio Technica A900
Thank you! How is the sound stage? I watched a review by Z on YT and saw his opinion that they have a small sound stage, much like the HD 600. I really need a larger sound stage to my A900 to accurately pick out opponent in the fps games i play- XenatR

The first quote i replied to was supposed to be yours! Is the 'full' 'warm' clean sound i like of the A900 because they have a stronger bass and are closed? I always thought they seemed perfectly suited to metal music and create a warm tone to it. Difficult to articulate Could I ask you your...- XenatR

I'm not very proficient regarding the description of sound, however, when I use the game Counter Strike as an example, the footsteps sound muffled and like plastic whereas on the A900 they sound full, warm and with more detail. Does this make sense? What is this phenomenon and how can I find a...- XenatR
