I have a £1000 budget for a setup and need your expert help

Overview and Stipulations:
- I currently have Audio Technica ATH-A900 (very comfortable for my head and wonderful sound - clear mids) + Creative Sound BlasterX G6
- Need for absolute bleeding clarity, detail and accuracy for classical music (Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Purcell etc [i do listen to other genres [[folk, electronic, death metal]] but ultimate classical sound is what I'm after - I'm willing to risk other genres not sounding as good) and first person shooter gaming (sound stage and more importantly imaging need)
- I have used and did NOT like AKG K702 & K712 (veiled sound, too large sound stage with poor imaging), HD 555 (horrendous. veiled sound), Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro (too much bass, not enough mid range or seeming balance overall)
- European (preferrably), American or Japanese-made products only.

Looking forward to your suggestions!

I would say to keep using the Audio Technica ATH-A900 for FPS gaming.
And buy new headphones for music and movies (and if they also work for FPS gaming.....cool).
Maybe Audeze LCD-2 headphones?

And plug them into your current Sound Blaster G6.
