Official 2014 SF Head-Fi Meet, July 19, 2014, DoubleTree San Francisco Airport
Hey Cee Tee! I've been doing well - working, the usual boring stuff. My hobbyist attention gradually shifted over to building and modding computers, but recently I've been considering a Violectric amp/dac combo. I'm also going to be bringing a few friends along to this meetup party and...- tengen

I myself prefer these plastic openers from iFixit for a few dollars. Doesn't scratch the iPod. http://www.ifixit.com/Store/Tools/Plastic-Opening-Tools/IF145-000- tengen

Is BeyondWind's page down? I just finished restoring my iPod 5.5G with a 480GB Crucial SSD and a new battery from iFixit; loaded up default Rockbox and it gives me ATA error -11. Hopefully BW's patch can fix ATA error -11.- tengen

I've had my UE18s serviced once (bass just went poof) and it was pretty quick service. I think most of the flak comes from either universals or out-of-warranty service, the former which I had experience with and was quite terrible.- tengen

I can't say anything about the sound, but for the custom art I sent in a mock-up, and the individual art itself in a high-res .tif file. From Todd Hernandez (when asked about templates for the art):- tengen

Is anyone else sometimes picking up radio frequencies on their IEMs? When I'm at the library (it's near a broadcasting station) then I hear half-radio, half-my own music. :S- tengen

Quote: Any particular reason why you're using .WAV, such as editing? I would really re-encode those into FLAC or ALAC, something less clunky, because WAV files are large. And you can tag FLAC/ALAC files to your heart's content.- tengen
