    Halifax, Nova Scotia Meet?

Sounds good to me, depending on the day. I am about 90 minutes away from the HRM.

    Earbud thread

Seems everyone has forgotten about the Sony MDR-E888 buds, the standard in Fonotopia style for years. I don't know if they are even in production these days, but they are sort of old-school with wonderful mids and an ideal balance between bass and treble. I have owned 4 pairs of these with a...

    Etymotic ER4 closest to perfect?

It seems the ER-4's were the first IEM's that elicited a lot of excitement on this forum, as they were one of the first of this type. They provide a very honest reproduction and are uncolored. I find them to be a necessity when I need to get into my music, although their high isolation make them...

Anyone do a review on Etymotic hf2's?

What are the major differences between these and the 4P's? The isolation specs look amazing, I wonder if they are accurate. The 4P's isolate well enough for me.......

    Sony MZ-RH1 still worth buying?

Do you plan on using the RH1 for field recording, or just as a playback device? Although I own 14 MD units, unless you actually make live recordings, MiniDisc is not always the best options, although SQ is still far and above most other DAP's. You get very durable media and a coolness factor...

I tried foamies on the ER-4P's, think I'll have to go back to tri-flanges......

V-DiV, so all I need to do is cut off the first small section of the tri-flanges, and these work well? Hmmm. I do have an extra set, I can easily try that.....I am now using the flanges for the first time in a month, seems to have better sound quality than the foamies ever did.

I tried foamies on the ER-4P's, think I'll have to go back to tri-flanges......

Those tips didn't work when I had the E2C's, so they probably won't with the Etys. I'll just live with the tri-flanges. Thanks for everyone's advice.

I tried foamies on the ER-4P's, think I'll have to go back to tri-flanges......

OK, do they stay securely in there? I found these tips on the E2's were not seated very well, or that's how they felt.

I tried foamies on the ER-4P's, think I'll have to go back to tri-flanges......

Are you talking about these? Shure Canada I had E2C's a few years ago, tried all the tips, didn't work out. Will these fit?

I tried foamies on the ER-4P's, think I'll have to go back to tri-flanges......

Do they slide on easier than these foamies? If not, I'll just go back to the flanges. I am used to them.

I tried foamies on the ER-4P's, think I'll have to go back to tri-flanges......

Not because of sound quality or comfort, but the foamies are virtually impossible to remove. I plan to clean them, after about two weeks of regular use. I must say the filters never came close to seeing the earwax they did with the tri-flanges, though. I have mixed feelings about both...

Simple question - can you clean the foamies on the ER-4P's?

I have re-discovered my love for the ER-4P's by switching to the foamies over the tri-flange tips. I find they are more comfy and my earwax tends not to kill the filters. However, these are now somewhat grungy-looking after a lot of wear, can the foamies be washed? (I do have several more pairs)

Trying floamies on my ER-4P's for the first time.......

OK, I have been faithfully using the foamies for a few days. I find them to be more comfortable and less irritating in many regards, and the wax problems getting into the filters seems to be less of an issue. The SQ is still wonderful, I can't tell if it is better or just different over the...
