I prefer my D2 to my A828. Supports FLAC for a start. Bass roll off isn't an issue when using a portable amp (Pico) I find

The ESW10 is considerably better on EVERY front that the ESW9, I am already selling my ESW9 to a friend of mine very soon so sorry about that! I have to say that when I use the Pico usb DAC out of my thinkpad x200, the ESW10 is especially astounding

Justin, I have just emailed you regarding a 'supposed' delivery attempt of my Pico (#655) in England, which failed.

I went for a pair of ATH-FC700s from audiocubes. I figured they will be good, hard to get outside of Japan and they are fold-away portable as she would throw them in her bag for the most part. I think I may also give her my Sony A828 with some of my favourite music on it for her to listen to...
