Roll Call: Who's building, built, or thinking of building a beta22?
Hi, Lately I've noticed some power-off thump in one side with my ~2 years old balanced b22. I'm not sure if this is a new thing for the amp or something that was always there. (I've upgraded my headphones to HD800 recently) I've rechecked all the voltages and for DC offset and everything...- SoapSeller

ATH-AD2000 - Reterminating for balanced?
As I said before, it's a 4 conductor wire, all the way from the elements to the plug, but... At the Y split the ground is shared, I've validated it before, but now I've cracked open the old y-splitter and took some pics. You can see my new connector, my new glue covered y-split , and the...- SoapSeller

ATH-AD2000 - Reterminating for balanced?
Quote: Originally Posted by cantsleep the ground is only shared in the plug. As I found out, the cable is 4-wire one, but the ground is connected in the Y-split, so I had to redo this part of the cable as well. I'll probably go for a full recable some time soon, since I'm not...- SoapSeller

ATH-AD2000 - Reterminating for balanced?
I don't believe in statistics, not when it comes to abusing few hundreds worth of perfectly good equipment. Anyway, I've found a post where some state that the AD2000 have 4-conductors wire, but the ground is shared, which make no sense. I'll probably try it anyway.- SoapSeller

ATH-AD2000 - Reterminating for balanced?
I don't get your post, The AD2000 can be in the remaining 1%. To be clear, I want to use the stock cable, and just change the plug into 4-PIN XLR. Have someone done this with the ATH-AD2000 before?- SoapSeller

ATH-AD2000 - Reterminating for balanced?
I'm getting a pair soon(hopefully tomorrow), and I need to have them balanced. Should I be able to reterminate them, or I'll need to do a full recable?- SoapSeller

balanced tube amp from little dot
The Headroom standard is completely messed up, not only using 3-pin xlr, but using female ones(as opposed to the standard for xlr output - male). I believe that they have done that due to the availability of Neutrik combo plugs(XLR/TRS). 4-pin xlr makes more sense, the only...- SoapSeller

GS1000: Bigger Soundstage then the 701?
I've compared them head-to-head when I bought my K701, about a year ago. The GS1000 have a nice big soundstage, but little smaller then the K701.- SoapSeller
