In my opinion yes; however, I prefer HT Omega products over any Asus Xonar device. With that said and if you have the cash, buy both then keep the one you like best !!! By testing both you can decide which one sounds better with your JVC's. Then again with either one of these cards you may find...

Currently, I own the HT Omega Halo and love it. At one point, I owned a little dot MK V amp and set it up similarly to your rig Halo -> MK V -> D2000. That particular setup was stellar to my ears. So no you are not going to do any damage; however, you may wish to consider an HT Omega Claro Plus+...

At one point I had both the D2000 and the SR225. Although I enjoyed my Grados, the Denons won me over with better bass response. As a matter of fact, the D2000 sound amazing with a good solid state amp.

In my experience, which isn't very extensive, I found the AH-D2000's to be thus far, the best "all purpose" cans I have ever used. I've tried sr-60, sr-225 and even the great dt880; although these cans are good for certain types of music, the Denons, in my opinion, are better for music, movies...

I purchased a pair of these back in april 08. Basically, even before reading this pc350 review, I was completely underwhelmed. AH-D2000 are way better seeing how I paid almost $300 bucks for the 350's back then. Funny how much the price on these has dropped. Imagine that... Hope you have...
