Calling all New Yorkers - good resource for (indie) concert listings in NY?
Hey all, I'm going to be staying in New York for 2 or 3 weeks in December, and am excited to check out the music scene when I'm there. Where can I find a comprehensive listing of all the NY concerts? Ticketmaster and LiveNation are pretty much just the big shows, which don't really interest...- sapphiremodena

in canada, in need of a grado 1/4 to 1/8 adapter
I've been using one that I got at an electronics component store (Lee's Electronics on Main St. in Vancouver) that cost me $2 or $3. It's possible that one from Grado might be made with better quality materials, but probably not enough to warrant the order of magnitude in price difference when...- sapphiremodena

Excuse my ignorance, but why are HF-1s fetching so much cash lately?
Ah, I see. I'm kind of afraid to modify them, but maybe someday. My first reaction when I saw how much they are going for lately, was "Wow.. I probably shouldn't wear these to school anymore."- sapphiremodena

How's the Koss KSC75?
As far as bang for the buck, they're excellent. Very good sound quality for a $30 headphone. I got mine for about $15-20 a year or two ago and they are running strong. They don't look very cool, in my opinion, but I still walk the dog in them most days. Mainly I use them around the house...- sapphiremodena

Hi all, I've been a Head-Fier for years now, but I've hardly ventured away from the Music/Off-Topic forums for the last couple years. After lots of research, I bought some HD-580s, HF-1s, E2Cs and KSC-75s and decided to never look back, for the sake of my wallet. So it goes without saying...- sapphiremodena

New Sigur Ros album- free stream on Last.fm!
I'm a Sigur Ros nut too, and I love this album. My favourite album so far is Takk... and I think it still might be, but I've only listened to this one about 5 or so times, so it could grow. I definitely see what dgbiker says about the album feeling less cohesive than previous efforts. But I'm...- sapphiremodena

Question: A watch with fixed hands and rotating faces?
It had this sort of style, except the full face was exposed rather than covered, and it was round rather than square. These are awesome but they are $400 unfortunately. A little too pricey for this stage of my life. Nixon- sapphiremodena

Question: A watch with fixed hands and rotating faces?
Hey fellow Head-Fiers, I'm looking for a specific watch and so naturally, I came to the all-knowledgeable Head-Fi for answers. I saw this one at the Vancouver Art Gallery a couple years ago, never bought it, and have regretted it since. Here is my description of what it looked like: The...- sapphiremodena
