For a codec to work you have to have something encoding it (eg smartphone) and something decoding it (eg headphones) so if they don’t support both the codec it won’t work.

I owned both and just for aac on iPhone and iPad to my ears bathys is one step up on sound quality. When in aptx adaptive and usb dac then bathys is a big step up in sound quality because it doesn’t do much on px8 in comparison. I love both and I can say if I could only have one I would choose...

Well I only heard them for a while then I’m letting them burn some music and pink noise for some hours. My usual beliefs… But for now I’m amazed for the so natural and effortless sound they produce. I honestly thought the bass was over what I was expecting but will let them play and listen more...

Sure I understand what you say but I was only pointing out the obvious… if you listen to a wired headphone costig 800€ and another costing 1500€ you will expect it to be better but not double better and you might buy it for that one stop shop…. for example bathys in dac mode for me is valuable...

Considering the pricing of t+a is only natural… almost double of px8… about the bathys/px8 i share the thoughts.

Ok so as someone who never heard any of the Sennheiser hd6 series I ordered hd600, hd660s and Fiio k5 pro ess. I wanted better desk experience without breaking the bank so I will have to listen the 2 options and choose.

So I just bought from Sennheiser a refurbished unit so I wanted an open back since I sold all I had. I now have akg k361 for closed set allways with me for work and focal bathys to anc and wireless that I’m enjoying that much. So now what portable player could I buy that I don’t spend much money...

I use btd600 on iPhone 14 pro max with an otg adapter and on iPad Air with usb c the pic I uploaded was from my iPad Air

Is there really a sq difference with usb c digital cables!?

The volume steps became smaller but still bigger than average. But at least for me it’s not a problem anymore. And With btd600 I have more control on iOS.
