$300: New Amp, Cans, or Both?

@Dulalala I have been searching there. I found one person but they had sold it (though they didn't mark it as sold or delete the listing). I'll keep looking I guess.

$300: New Amp, Cans, or Both?

Gaming is not a priority and I’m fine with what I have for that so that’s a non-factor really. I have to stay under $300 so some of the cans mentioned are not an option. I’m leaning toward the HD6xx as they are $199.99 on Massdrop, but man that 3 month wait is almost a deal killer.

$300: New Amp, Cans, or Both?

@JKDJedi I am using the Grado SR80 for gaming, sometimes the ATH-M50, sometimes my EarTech IEMs, are the HD6xx worse than those for gaming?

$300: New Amp, Cans, or Both?

I think I may have edited my last post while some of you were replying, so I think then I'm trying to decide between the HD6xx and the HE-400 because both of them are within my $300 budget (right now it's cash and so I absolutely can't budge on that right now). Considering I'd be pushing them...

$300: New Amp, Cans, or Both?

I had thought I might go with the Sennheiser HD6xx ($199.99 drop on Massdrop building right now), I know you mentioned the HE 500/560 but they are out of my $300 price range. Would you suggest the HE-400 over the Sennheiser HD6xx for my situation?

$300: New Amp, Cans, or Both?

That is great information! Thanks for helping out an uneducated guy figure it out! Honestly all this Ohms and Impedance stuff is pretty confusing right now, but I guess I'll catch on. So high ohm cans sounds like it might be the best investment then, all things considered.

$300: New Amp, Cans, or Both?

So I've been able to gather that there are basically two ways I could go from the responses so far (and thank you to everyone that is contributing, it really does help): 1) Buy a set of Sennheiser HD6xx and as much headphone amp as I can get with what's left over. 2) Buy as much headphone...

Is this the one that’s featured right now on the main Head-Fi page?

$300: New Amp, Cans, or Both?

Those are both better than Grados in the equivalent price range?

$300: New Amp, Cans, or Both?

Renato Fury, I see that the Sennheiser 598 comes open or closed back. Which of those do you recommend?

$300: New Amp, Cans, or Both?

I have $300 to spend and want to improve my sound and would like advice on how to best spend it. I play my music through: Mac Mini iPhone 7 Kenwood Turntable/Yamaha Receiver from the mid 70’s I listen through: Eartech Triples custom IEM ATH-M50’s Grado SR-80e Should I get a new set of cans or...

PULSE wireless stereo headset - Elite Edition

I have both of the Sony Wireless headsets, and they are both VERY good for use with the PS3.  I have used my ATH M50's and Turtle Beach X1's with my PS3 as well, and they simply do not compare with the Sonys for use with the PS3.  Gaming headsets are very specialized and need to be set up...

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

Open is fine.  I have a private office.  And I'm not opposed to small amplifiers if the amp + cans total is close to my price point of $300 give or take.  I just don't know ANYTHING about amplifiers, good cans, etc.  I didn't realize until this week just how very little I know about this subject.

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

Hi, this is my first post, so go easy on me.  My headphone experience has been very limited and uneducated, mostly because sites like this aren't well known, and out in the real world, no one really knows about headphone qualities (at least in my world).  I have a pair of Bose OE's (the first...
