I opened them up (which was surprisingly very easy to do) and both wires from each driver is still attached. One of the wires is a little frayed, so maybe that's the problem? I guess I could detach the wiring and cut a few inches off and re-solder them, but then the cable would be even...- goonda61

This is unbelievable... I managed to yank the wires loose from where they insert into the headphones... Now my s500s don't work at all =( I got the wire tangled while I was squatting to get something from my bag and when I stood up the wire got caught on my knee and my knee yanked on wiring...- goonda61

One year later... I'm just the regular listener. I listen to house/trance. I love the sound of these headphones, though this is only my second pair of headphones. The original pads have softened quite a bit and they are fairly comfortable now. I did buy the HM5 pads, which were the softest...- goonda61

Just an update. I ended up getting the HM5 pads and the O rubber ring from ebay. The HM5 pads are probably the most comfortable pads I have ever worn. They are so soft and comfy on the ears. I also find that my ears do not get sweaty. I can wear them for quite a long time and not get...- goonda61

I'm not sure about the kbps on youtube and you're right, sometimes changing the quality doesn't change the sound quality. I only posted the youtube video because I was on youtube at the time, but the soundcloud links are usually always 320kbps so I should probably post those from now on. =D- goonda61

You guys seem to love trance. I'm more of a house/hardstyle kinda EDM'er I like the build up, bigger drops, and the harder beats. Trance is too "trancey" for me? I've been jamming out to this quite a bit lately. It drops at 2:30 and I go into dance mode instantly =D...- goonda61

I wasn't sure on the HM5 pads or the ATH pleathers, but based on the last few responses i'm glad I got the HM5's. Pretty excited now. Dsnuts, so you're saying you don't need to sew the HM5's?- goonda61
