crave for muddy sound! help!!!
Lol, just EQ. You can do this with pretty much any headphones, from Boses to Stax Omegas. No need to buy a new pair, Crank doze MUDDY KNOBZ up! When you finally get tired of it (and you will), simply turn the EQ off.- DrDustCell

Which has the better soundstage, AKG K702/Q701 or DT990?
I beg to differ. I feel my DT990's soundstage is noticeably wider than my K702's- noticeably for all musical genres. With the DT990, I can imagine myself floating mid-atmosphere with music coning from all directions, or standing in an open-air arena while the band plays at a moderate...- DrDustCell

When you cusp your hands over Grado vents and press a little, there's this sound..
That tinny, lean sound reminds me of something nostalgic but I just can't pin down exactly what it is. An old 70's radio? A loudspeaker inside a hall? Free plastic speakers bundled with PCs? Try it!- DrDustCell

La Figaro 339
Thanks for the tip, Ultrainferno! I'll check the thread out right away. And glad to hear the important part of the 339 remains unscathed! Maybe tube-rolling has advantages more than sonic choice after all :D- DrDustCell

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
Simple question: Will the upper-end grados (RS2i up) feel as uncomfortable as the lower end ones? Is this all foam dependent or is this a exercise in futility? What do I mean by uncomfortable? Both.- DrDustCell

La Figaro 339
Been a long time since I posted in this thread. Quote: I don't have this problem with my LF339+DT990-600, nor with LF339 +any other headphone that I own either. I've listened to my friend's DT880-250 on this amp as well with no issues. I haven't been using my DT990 with the 339...- DrDustCell

Would you rec. Grado sr325is for a treble enthusiast?
I've decided to be patient and do an extended test run. Mal's advice (thanks!) inspired me to actually give the sr60i's (actually it was an sr80i) a try; I was very fortunate to be able to find an owner right here in my campus!! (through university forums, super n-eat) He, unfortunately...- DrDustCell

Would you rec. Grado sr325is for a treble enthusiast?
Hello all, I'm making a decision between the 225i and the 325is and I'm turning to Head-Fi for some valuable input~ I have a fondness for the higher frequencies. I don't shy away from them, especially when I'm in the mood for brassy jazz and especially electronica, where (timely)...- DrDustCell
