Sony NW-A40 Series NW-A45/A46/A47
I love them. I was coming from the W3s (I broke them). I'm not good at describing sound but I think these sound great.- Codefox

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Very excited to have the HD 6XX for my home setup. I've always been a road warrior for work so I never focused much on my home audio setup and while I still travel heavily, I was really getting annoyed at home with using IEMs since I get calls all day long or when my family is home it's too...- Codefox

Sony NW-A40 Series NW-A45/A46/A47
What would be the main hesitation? I kept wanting to wait on the NW-55 to drop over here but when I lost my FiiO X3 gen 3 I was forced to get something. My setup is a pair of Westone W40s and I'm not going to try and give an audiophile level review of this player but I think the sound quality...- Codefox

Sony NW-A40 Series NW-A45/A46/A47
I think the player does expect a certain file structure on the card so I'm not sure if you can just drop in your card without it matching. I'm not at a computer right but but I'm not sure. As for gapless I just tested it with a couple albums where it matters. It worked fine with both mp3 and...- Codefox

Sony NW-A40 Series NW-A45/A46/A47
Took the plunge on this one last week. My FiiO X3 III vanished on me and after looking for it for a couple weeks (and suffering through multiple plane flights in that time with no music) I gave up and decided to go the Sony route. I liked but never did love my X3 III so I'm not too broken up...- Codefox

Good deal on W40!
Yeah, it's been a while since I've used any of the olives but that is my vague memory of them. I do need to give the P-100s a try as well and I thought I had a pair hiding somewhere but I haven't found them. I may just stick with the silicon for now unless I'm really unhappy with the isolation...- Codefox

Good deal on W40!
Maybe this wasn't as good of a deal as I thought since no one had anything to say about it! 8) I've been enjoying this so far. I went through several different tips. I started with the foam star tips but found they were a little too firm for me to listen comfortably for very long. I tried...- Codefox

Good deal on W40!
I was passing through ATL today and I usually just check and see if there's any deals going at InMotion. I guess with the new revisions of the W series coming out now, they're clearing their old stock so I picked up a pair of W40s for $195. I used to have a pair of W3s (that I picked up...- Codefox

FiiO X3MKIII || Dual TI PCM5242 || Dual-mode Bluetooth 4.1 || Dual headphone outputs || Balanced Out || 192kHz/32bit
Well, so far it seems that a new SD card really has resolved the issues I was seeing. The library scan completed with no problem and so far the player hasn't locked up while playing any music. Now that I have something that seems to work as intended, I can see what people mean by the UI being...- Codefox

FiiO X3MKIII || Dual TI PCM5242 || Dual-mode Bluetooth 4.1 || Dual headphone outputs || Balanced Out || 192kHz/32bit
Yeah I have a combination of mp3 and FLAC. Some of the files are very old but I doubt they are any issue and my tagging is fairly robust. I suspect the new card will solve my issue and I don't think the UI is sluggish enough to really bother me but I'll see.- Codefox

FiiO X3MKIII || Dual TI PCM5242 || Dual-mode Bluetooth 4.1 || Dual headphone outputs || Balanced Out || 192kHz/32bit
It's actually good to know that you still enjoy using it. For me, the scanning doesn't work at all. It stops completely after 100 - 200 files. I let it go for over an hour just to confirm it wasn't my impatience. That was when I read some reviews that seem to indicate my SD card is probably...- Codefox

FiiO X3MKIII || Dual TI PCM5242 || Dual-mode Bluetooth 4.1 || Dual headphone outputs || Balanced Out || 192kHz/32bit
After having the original X1 for 3 years and being very happy with it, I decided it was time to upgrade recently. The wheel on the X1 just wasn't working well anymore, making scrolling through my music difficult and I didn't feel that it was up to the task of driving my MEE P1s as well as they...- Codefox

Broke my W3s. Now what?
Asahi, thanks, this is information overload but in a good way. I think I owe you a beer! I never take one opinion. I can generally get a sense for what a pair of headphones sound like by looking for trends in the comments about them. Looks like I have a bit of my own research to do.- Codefox

Broke my W3s. Now what?
That's a lot of good information since a lot of those names aren't even really familiar to me. I need to read a little more about the P1s because people do seem to just LOVE them and they have a very compelling price. I've also never seen MassDrop before...this could be dangerous 8)- Codefox

Broke my W3s. Now what?
I'd love to spend $400 or less but for the right set I may be willing to stretch my budget. As for location, I live in the USA so I should be able to get most things easily.- Codefox
