I'm currently using a Schiit Magni 2 and a Darkvoice tube amp. The DT770 600 ohm sounds great on the tube amp! The DT770 250 ohm also sounds really good on the tube amp, probably slightly better than the 600 ohm version.

Also, not sure if anyone has looked at the old vs. new drivers, but here's a photo of both so you can see the difference! The old driver is on the left, and the new driver is on the right.
