HiBy R2 - HiBy's entry-level HiFi digital audio player
I am using FLAC from the MicroSD, a little experimentation I found that it seems to be a range/line of sight related thing. If I have the W3S next to the R2 it is ok, but if its a little distance away I get distortion, if it is not in line of sight I get distortion. I have not tried to stream...- aim54x

HiBy R2 - HiBy's entry-level HiFi digital audio player
I have had my R2 for a week or so now....very happy with it, but was wondering if anyone else has tried to use UAT 1.2M with a Hiby W3S? Everytime I try this combination I get terrible distortion/artefacts. Switching to UAT 900 or LDAC fixes it. I dont have any music better than 16-bit 44.1khz...- aim54x

Taotronics TT-BH-060 First Thoughts
First thoughts on the Taotronics TT-BH060..... Disclaimer - I received these as prize from Taotronics via a Facebook competition. These are the first Taotronics over ear headphones that I have used. Box - nice, clean packaging, nothing fancy, only a few key specs on the side (why waste money...- aim54x

TaoTronics TT-EP01 , When good is not expensive
Just a little thing called availability. In the arse end of the world known as Australia we no longer have access to Amazon US and Amazon AU only offers the EP002. Throw in the generally positive reviews, it seemed worth the punt. I'm guessing there is a little lost in translation. But it...- aim54x

TaoTronics TT-EP01 , When good is not expensive
So the EP002's arrived. I can see what they mean by good but not brilliant ANC. But I'm sure that is not helped by not getting a great fit with the included tips.- aim54x

TaoTronics TT-EP01 , When good is not expensive
I normally bring the MDR-1000x on the plane/train with me, they work a treat. This next trip will see me try to slash the bulk/weight from my cabin bag hence the search for a lightweight ANC option, preferably something that wont break the bank. It does sound like the EP002 will be sufficient...- aim54x

TaoTronics TT-EP01 , When good is not expensive
Thanks for the reply. Amazon AU doesn’t seem to have refurb/recertified but they do have occaisional discounts, so I will attempt to grab a pair when they are discounted. I expect them to be inferior in ANC to the big brands, but it is good to hear they are still good for constant ambient noise...- aim54x

TaoTronics TT-EP01 , When good is not expensive
Great to see some reviews. I am actually looking at the newer model (TT-EP002) as they are available at the Amazon AU site. I’m looking for a set of ANC IEM’s for some travel that I am doing at the end of the year. Anyone have any experience witht the EP002?- aim54x

The Apple diyMod: My Take on the Famous iMod [56k killer] Featuring 3G, 4G, 5G and nano 1G!
Wondering if anyone can help. My iPod 20GB G4 Photo needed a new battery so I thought I would try to get the CF Mod going at the same time. The replacement battery worked a treat. I have my CF adapter (trimmed to fit) and have managed to get the iPod working with a 2GB and 4GB CF card. However...- aim54x

Compact Active Noise Cancelling headphones vs ANC IEMs?
So there is some travel planned for this year and after the joys of the ATH-ANC9's that I have travelled with on my last few trips I am looking to treat my GF to a set of ANC headphones/IEMs (she tried to steal my ANC9's last time). However, the upcoming trips look to be a pack light, lots of...- aim54x

Official X3 2nd gen stable firmware download / discussion thread--FW2.0: Added library search function, Line Output level options, Recently Played playlist, ReplayGain
I am starting the wonder if it is a card issue esp since a few other people have had issues with the EVO cards (on the Fiio Forums). I like the 128GB card as it will fit my FLAC collection and means I don't have to switch cards (microSD's are a pain to begin with). You may not have a need for... -
Official X3 2nd gen stable firmware download / discussion thread--FW2.0: Added library search function, Line Output level options, Recently Played playlist, ReplayGain
Just another update...>FW1.6 is still no good for me in terms of skipping/pausing it seems to have reverted to hard pausing rather than skipping to the next track. It is worse some days. I am going to try to get a faster card to see if it is related to the memory card speed (currently using... -

Just piping in to see if there is anything new on randomly skipping/pausing/restarting tracks on the X3II, currently running FW 1.4 with a 128GB Samsung Evo (looking for a smaller MicroSD to upgrade to 1.6). What has me intrigued is that if I manually restart the track it usually plays through... -

Thanks for the heads up...I guess I will be upgrading my FW....Maybe it will get rid of the pausing/skipping completely.
