I'm picking mine up on Thursday. I actually left it with VentureCraft a few weeks back for them to lower the headphone out impedance but it seems it was already lowered when they changed the OpAmp to the LME. I asked if it could be lowered to below 10 ohm but looks like minimum is 10 ohm.

Actually this may explain why I'm not hearing the loss of bass impact others are hearing 'cos my X was already lowered.

How do you find yours so far?

I am looking to get a Go-DAP to use with my iPhone for use with my Etymotic ER4P (with S adapter) and Etymotic HF3s(Custom Tips). Which model do you think will work best Muses 8920 or OPA2134?

Thanks

I'm liking it so far.

I no longer hear "dead" bass from my F111, though it's likely due to the impedance reduction rather than OpAmp change. Other than that instrument placements seems to be more detailed and highs extends a bit more.

Can't really make a more detailed comparison though since I barely remember how my X sounds before pimping.

i recieved my X LME49860 yesterday , after paying like 150 US import duties. Man that sucks big time.

anyway , my first impressions are ( compared to the Note II itself) :

power: much more , the IE80 are much more controlled.

soundstage: slightly wider en more at the front. So a nice gain.

background : pitch black. this is the best improvement.

Bass : little less but more controlled. I think i like it this way.

Treble : more than i care for , but with some EQ settings i have it to my likings.

I think this amp is best suited for Vocals. Theu do sound amazing.

if i translate above to points i come to the following conclusion.....

price ( for me as i payed import duties ): 7/10. No import duties then 8/10
build quality : 9/10
sound : 8/10
packaging : 8/10
manual : 1/10. I saw no english manual , only japanese ?
installation: 10/10. just plug it in and it works.

overall i am very happy with the purchase but will play with it some more ,so my opinion can alter slightly in the course of time.

that's it back to :)

My MH335DW is very easy to drive, so I alway put it in low gain. At low gain, I only turn the volume to 9 o'clock. With high gain, I can hear hissing.
Isn't your X modded to 10ohm (i.e.resistors removed, power goes up to 130mW/ch)?

running my ie80 on low gain.
My philips X1 on high gain.

the AKG sound terrible on both hi and low.

For Go-DAP X owners, since the X has 2xDACs (AKM for iDevice, and PCM for USB Audio), playing the same track on both DACs, which do you prefer?

I've not done too thorough tests but I think I find the AKM to be more detailed but a slightly smaller/closed soundstage whereas the PCM to be somewhat wider and a slightly deeper 3D imaging, however not as detailed.
