Got my shipment notice this morning. Can't wait. Also found a new review posted today. Not any new info, but a lot of good closeups of the headphone.
I was listening to Alison Krauss' song "When You Say Nothing At All" during this comparison. It was an MP3 at 192 kbps, ripped from the original CD I bought back in the '90s and converted to MP3 during my big "CD Collection Project" in 2001. My dad had it on his iPhone, and it was the one I sampled during the wireless / wired-from-the-same-source comparison.
I'm not really sure if I could tell a difference at all in the SQ. I totally know that even if there was a variation, I couldn't appreciate the difference. Just like comparing MP3 @ 192 kbps versus WAV/FLAC ripped from the original CD.
And I completely stand by what I said about the hiss. Maybe not all of the CFW1s are created equally? Who knows.
After you cut the wire do they let you keep the headphone?
(this comment applies to m-100 only, the CFW wont work with this)
They will work with balanced or mono inputs over stereo .. like some Denon replacement cables would work after the cut, but you need the m-100 because you need to then plug in both cups, mandatory.
I could see them knowing people would be able to figure this out and still making you turn them in though..

I'll just be here hitting refresh on my browser. Can you say if the buttons are more tactile this time around? I dislike how mushy they are on the CFW1s.
The white looks great, did you get any extra shields?

Guy on Youtube does a review and comparison to other V-Moda headphones. At least that's what the header says. I haven't watched it yet, but I remember watching him review the CFW1s, which he loved a lot. I'll watch this later.
I watched it, he said he couldn't hear much of a difference between 1 and 2, but he liked them both better than the M-100's
