please do a brief comparo between es700 and es10. i own the es700 and love them, but already craving for more.

What's immediately noticeable is that the ES10 is a fair bit more coloured with more bass oompf and spiked highs. I'm surprised at how neutral the E700 sounds in comparison. I don't know if I would treat one as a direct upgrade over the other.

Okay, have to say I'm really very, very impressed.

I am really surprised that the ES700 is the ES7 successor considering that I remember the ES7 being tuned 'fun' the same way the ES10 is tuned. The ES700 by comparison is much more neutral and dry.

I'm going through and A/Bing the ES700 against the MDR-1R, ES10 and Momentum. I'm not about to say that any one of these are better than the others but the ES700 is definitely sitting at the same table.

Comfort is not best-in-class but it's not awful the same way the ES10's are out of the box.

What impresses me most is that this is a closer-to-neutral sounding can in a small package that folds flat and compact.

Maybe you can try the ES10 pads on the Es700. I'm using the WS99 pads and they make them so much more comfortable.

Any reason why a guy who is in love with his WS99's would even consider getting the ES700's?

The WS99 are masters of bass, while the ES700s are the masters of mids, nuff said.

Dem gr07 BEs that you just sold. HE HE HE

Lmao, so much fun is going on over here.

I will end up getting either WS99 or ES700 at some point. Wonder which are lighter for outside use.

Ha ha - good one. But sorry, the BE's just weren't for me. Couldn't get the right fit or full sound without a really deep and uncomfortable insertion, so sadly they were masters of frustration. But the Basso's, 1K's and I'm sure H-200's are all masterful enough for me in the iem department, so I'm probably more interested in finding a "master of all" headphone.

Not that I'm unhappy with any of the ones that I have - I love them all actually. But I can understand the allure of finding a headphone that has the bass of the ws99's, mids of let's say the ES700's, and treble of let's say the ad900x's.

So, what you got for me now smarty pants?

Edit: what am I talking about? Just threw on the ad900x's, and man, they are rather masterful. So I found the answer... on my head!
