Yeah, I think any improvement might be slight, but I do a lot of listening through my laptop, and you just know, they spent the least amount on those cables, that came with. All my other micros are also cheaply made. I'll look at the Toxic website and see what they got . Thanks for the tip.

I am not a complete skeptic, but amongst all items, I am most unwilling to spend money on cables. There is a lot of psychological resistant on my part.

Since I have a HUGO ordered, this is of great interest to me.  But... I am quite puzzeled because (1) isn't a waste to bypass the "very good DAC/AMP" of the AK240, (2) with this configuration we loose the option to have Balanced headphone out and (3) with this configuration we loose the option to play native DSD (which I understood is "stellar" with the AK240) !
 
So, are all those trade off (NO DSD, NO Balanced out)+ Added cost + added bulk...  worth'it :  Is  AK240+HUGO  really  much better than  AK240 alone ?
 
 
Doesn't  HUGO + TOL Portable Balanced amp make more sense ?

Just received my 2.5mm to rsa balanced adaptor to test AK240 with fitears. Thanks ted.

Wanted to mention that Ted advised not to plug or unplug balanced connector to AK240 when powered on......to do with ground setup and easily shorting. Thanks for heads up Ted.
