Symphonium Crimson - Impressions and Reviews (The Next Standard)

Thanks for the tip.. ok, I'll see myself out now.

I'll give the NF tips a try too, and yea, I saw your Crimson in the Classifieds at a great price. If I didn't already have a set, I would've purchased yours especially since you had the 8w cable. Is the Singularity the only IEM you have at the moment? What's next on your radar?
Sorry I’m just seeing this.

Yes, Singularity is my only iem right now. Next on my radar is Storm or Canpur 622B.

Worst case scenario: airplane media screen 3.5mm output -> crimson = 0 bass

What would be the best solution in this scenario?
I've never tried since I like to have ANC on flights, but I don't think it would be that bad.

The last time I was on a plane, Delta media screens were able to put out enough volume to my B&O H9 headphones with ANC on 3.5mm. When comparing the H9 and Crimson using 3.5mm on my amp, the Crimson only needs a couple more clicks on the knob to match volume.

Edit: If you're looking for the best solution for audio/video on a plane and the in-flight options aren't cutting it, I'd just download media onto a tablet and use it with a portable dac/amp.

I’ve tried it on a delta plane. But perhaps it varies plane by plane. It could also be the low frequency noise on the plane that cancels out the underpowered bass.

And he loves his Singularity! #buystom

Precogvision put out his review of the Crimson the other day.

I almost completely agree, especially with the power Crimson benefits from.

Thanks, guys! Appreciate you sharing this here!

Yes, unfortunately this is only option for this scenario unless someone has created an in line amplifier for this specific scenario.

I'd much rather use all of my IEMs and plan ahead versus having to rely on any in flight entertainment.

Here's how I do it. I lay the IEM down flat. I squeeze the eartip to get as wide of an opening, place it over the rim of the nozzle, and unsqueeze as I roll it on.

Many thanks for taking the time to do up that video. You are right, that is the most optimal way to put tips on.
New tips are also generally a bit tighter than ones that have been on for a while, so it does get easier over time... plus practice makes perfect!

Airplane outputs aren't standardized at all and vary between planes, airlines and generation of media devices installed.

We've tested (on our own travels), some of the newer planes with the newer media devices do power our IEMs decently but there's really no guarantee with how many different planes there are out there rn.

The best we can recommend is getting a Bluetooth device like the iFi Go Pod or similar, and connect the airline media system to your Bluetooth device and run the Crimsons from there.

There may be a slight audio lag with Bluetooth but this is usually insignificant for general media consumption - it's an infotainment system, not a 240hz gaming pc :dt880smile:

Anyone from Symphonium. I just want to say... oh wow. I am still crossed eyed from the amount of details my ears are hearing. This was a conversation from earlier.

Me: You won't believe the stuff young Singaporeans are creating nowadays.

Wife: Wow. Sound so good ah. I want this one.

Me: No. You get your own.

Wife: I like that gold one.

Me: It's 7 thousand dollars

Wife: ...

You have no idea how difficult it is to get a positive review from my wife. Good job guys. Looking forward to picking up the Annihilator next.

well into my 5 plus months of listening to these along with two excellent full sized headphones (LCD-5 and HE1kse) along with the u12t and Sony M9s and still these are my favorite of the bunch!

I am now somewhat mobile in that I moved overseas and do plan to travel/live in different places throughout the year/s and having this level of fun and quality in the Crimson is a game changer for me. Recently I was thinking about what items I might take with me if I spend 3 months in Mexico or South America. I considered the LCD and HE1kse as they re awesome but eh Crimson makes an equally compelling case sonically while being way more transportable.

Really like these with the Azla exelastec tips and the Ibasso DX320 amp 12.

My ears can't wait to hear what the Symphonium team dreams up next although my wallet hopes the Crimson remains my favorite.

Sounds fabulously musical with Crimson! Crimson + Hiby FC6 = :dt880smile: I've slowed down buying IEMs, so there's nothing I'm currently in the honey moon period with, and Crimson is something I'm reaching for all the time in most situations. The cream always rises to the top.

I tested a lot of tips. JVC Spiral Dots ++ is jaw dropping. Sparkly highs, forward mids, bass thumping as normal. Some tips cause the timbre to sound tad artificial. Not the JVC. It’s just good.
