I'm curious but when you are uploading your files to the ZX1 is the transfer rate fast? I've been dealing with sd cards which I use an adapter for and usually the transfer speed to devices is really slow so close to 128gb of slow transfer speeds would take a few days at least. Also does a cover image in the folder work as album art or does it need to be tagged? I remember the last time I had a Sony player I had issues with album art unless it was tagged but that was a few years ago.
Hi rawster,
From my experience it is much faster transferring music files to the ZX1 compared to the AK100 (sd cards).
If I recall correctly the first time I transferred my HDTracks and 24 bit rate CD ripped albums (approx. 50GB), it took me around 3 hours.
As for the cover arts, I had to tag some of my 24 bit rate CDrips.
Cheers

That's great to hear. I guess all you need now is for someone to make a case for the ZX1.

Sony WM ZX 1 vs Iphone 4 s as pure DAP
Source : IPhone 4s
Sony WM ZX 1
Headphone : Ultrasone Sig DJ use stock cable with mic
Ultrasone Sig PRO
With these two Ultrasone Sig DJ and Sig Pro
iPhone 4S has better synergy and as a winner
High : more clear and detail
Mid : more weight / body and clear
Bass : has better impact and bass detail
I don't know why with these 2 headphones Ultrasone Sig DJ and Sig Pro , Sony WM ZX 1 doesn't has synergy
High : is not so sparkle and crisp like to other headphone
Mid : not so clean and clear
Bass : sound so boomy , that's i don't like with so kind of Bass .
IMO

Received my ZX1 yesterday. Left the player running with the also received Noble 5 all day yesterday. Road testing it now while I am out and about in HK with a pair of FitEar 223.
Briefly, the ZX1 has exceeded my expectations sonically. Detailed, well extended and precise sounding. There maybe a slight emphasis to the trebles but that just suits the FitEar house sound to a T.
Will post more thoughts over the next few days........but at the moment, I think Sony may have at last brought out a DAP that challenges....
Congrats Gavin for your two new toys
How is the sq from Noble 5 compare to Fit Ear MH 335 DW ?

That's my main reason, why I'm put off buying the ZX1. Don't want to spend $800 to be disappointed in any way.

I have not listened to the 335 on the ZX1 yet.
The Noble 5 is a rich and pronounced sounding pair of IEM. Vocals are forward and very full. The combination of the Sony and the N5 is quite enjoyable. Obviously both needs more time to settle more for a better picture.
The combination of user interface, battery life has totally won me over. Sonically, I am finding the ZX1 sounding a fair bit smoother with more hours, and more linear in the bass, with the sound field opening up quite nicely, especially the portrayal of depth.

Well...mine should land at the end of next week thanks to my headfi friend. I can't hardly wait to check out the ZX-1. Look likes my Z1070, X1060, DX50, and X3 will find a new home soon.
Sure, thanks for your impression. I totally agree with your notes on the X1060 & F807 with an exception of the bass on the F807 extends lower but lesser in volume. I will keep my Japanese NW-A867 in favor of the X1060. Can't stand the transfer rate on the X1060.
Sounds like we all have a pretty similar progression of the players. I haven't taken the plunge on the ZX1 yet. I still own the HD3, HD5, X1060, Z1070, A847, and F807. Of them, I'd keep the F807 no matter what because of the Disney engravings. Plus, it's a small, damn fine player.
The others? If I get a ZX1, they'll go.

Question: Has anyone sourced any screen shields other than the ones sold by PJ when you order? I'm okay with buying larger ones and cutting them down.

I'm going to just buy one of those generic invisible shield ones and cut it down to fit. I think those are pretty big so should give me more than enough room to work with.

This matches my experience, though mine has predominantly been with the 3003's.
