Thank you so.. much for the video.  One question.  Does it play when the batteries are dead or without batteries?

You'd think a $300 pair of headphones in 2012 would be able to, but these do not work without batteries. Not sure about dead batteries, but I can't imagine the results being any different.

Edit: I'm not sure why I can't embed pictures, but here are some close-ups:

thanks for confirming it.  million dollar question.  Does it sound good?  Or just restyled Studio?

Honestly, I'm not much of an audiophile. I've been using MEElec M31s for the past year and a half and generic Apple earbuds before that, and I don't have any experience with the Studios. For what it's worth, the bass in the Executive definitely doesn't seem as punchy as people made out Studios to have.

do the materials feel good?  Please describe.

The earcups and headband are made from the same type of soft memory foam. The headphones are metallic instead of the cheap plastic that the other Beats use, which is a huge plus for me. The headphones are a bit heavy, but I've kept it on for about an hour now and it feels comfy to me even with glasses on.

Edit: Noise isolation... Maybe I expected more, but these do a decent job I guess. Noise from the unusually loud air conditioner in my room is mostly blocked out. Sound seems to leak at high volumes.

I think appearance wise they are a win. Aluminum, steel, leather, you can't go wrong. It's just too bad they probably wont sound very good.
