Maybe some  confusion here? No LED when the volume control is turn on means battery is empty.  While charging with the volume control turn off the LED will go out when the battery is fully charged. At least that  happens with my Nano.

With what headphones did you tune the sound of the idsd micro?

Hi,

Try to arrange an audition with the nano iDSD or read about the AMR DP-777 in HF. Or the AMR CD-77. All are as "analogue" as possible. If that sheds light on what we like and what others say our components sound like.

Then you will get a better sense of the AMR/iFi house sound.

Audio is subjective - you have to make your own mind up if you like the way we do things which is gonna be different to another manufacturer.

Typically, we do the 95% and you dial in the last 5% to suit.

And we showed pics of some of the headphones we use earlier in this thread. Some are stock, some are not.

Just wondering, did ifi audio audition the micro idsd with any speakers? (Be it active or passive)

Remember reading some folks are thinking of matching with the jbl lsr305 and some genelecs.

Hi,

Yes, we did test with some speakers.

These are the AMR speakers that we use. The AMR LS-77 which in this configuration is double-stacked. They are not your normal run-of-the-mill design as they have a 10th Order Cross-Over and go down to 26Hz (+/-3dB) all in a 1' thick aluminium corpus and weigh 35kgs each.

LS-77 Specifications here:
http://amr-audio.co.uk/html/ls_specifications.html

and

LS-77 Features here:
http://amr-audio.co.uk/html/ls_features.html

This is the AMR Headquarters reference System that all AMR/ iFi stuff is developed on.

AM-77 Pre-Main Amplifier (£7,350) with 2 x LS-77 (£12,600 per pair = £25,200 in this setup)

This is a tri-amped AM-77 system driving double-stacked LS-77s - you cant see the micro iDSD because it is hidden in amidst the Garrard 301/PH-77 Phono Stage (£8,200) and DP-777 DAC (£3,300)

We are that serious that these stands are the new SE by Track Audio and they are £2,250 per pair. Aircraft-grade aluminium, 5 isolation units and delrin

The Track Audio SE stands are not even launched yet:

So yes, we take product development very seriously. We just like to play it a little low-key.

We dont care if it is a $199/E199 nano iDSD, $499/E499 micro iDSD or the anything else for that matter. We put them through this mother of all audio systems rig. We dont think any other manufacturer of sub-$1,000 products goes to these lengths.

Whatever digital we do, we ALWAYS cross-reference with the Garrard 301 + PH-77 playing some seriously delicious vinyl.

We dont make a song and dance but if you guys ask, we try to answer.

The micro iDSD and nano iDSD were also paired with our skunkworks iMON which is coming 1Q 2015 - something a little less extra-terrestrial.

Oh, we also take the micro iDSD and Retro for product development/audition tests to others. A fortnight ago, we visited John Howes of Howes Acoustics. They are the UK distributor for Voxativ and this is the £20k Ampeggio loudspeaker which we ran the Retro and the micro iDSD on.

Full-range Voxativ SETs with specially hand-built Quad amps - Yes that is a Nagra T-Series Reel-to-Reel with a special adaptor/extension. yes, the micro iDSD and Retro went up against that puppy!

Nearly forgot!

The iPhono was used with this Euro12k TT and Ra speakers (Euro50k) from JoSound which are hewn from bamboo and use the Voxative driver. This was taken at the recent Munich Show. We thank JoSound for this as we took our hat off to him for telling customers he uses a $399 phono in his big rig at a major show!

Thanks.

Wow! Very impressive setups!!! :)

I noticed in a review... "The extra hours casual use on the DP777 was also valuable, as AMR and others feel this product like other AMR 777 series – like the 77 series also – need about 500 hours run in/use to reach their final stable sound."

How many hours burn-in for the Micro iDSD to reach it's final stable sound?

The oncoming skunkworks iMON looks interesting with a woofer design, with pressure sensor, I have not seen before!

Good spot.

The codename is the "elephant's other trunk."

Not called "skunkworks" for nothing!

I hadn't seen reference to the iMon since pictures from one your shows. Is there anyway you will release any more info about this? I could definitely envision a pair of those flanking my computer screen and being fed from my micro iDSD...

Hi, ordered the Octa-Adopter unit, do you still need the iUsb power for ISO Earth if the source is squeezebox touch ?
