Is it possible to up sample to DSD512 or PCM768?

Hi,

Yes, but that is handled upstream at the computer source.

Not downstream in the micro iDSD.

For example, we published a pdf for MP3 > DSD (256/512) a week ago.

We published that here and over on the nano iDSD thread.

This 24 hour charge for the iDSD the first time we charge it is through what voltage? 5V? 10V? Or does it not matter as long as we stick it in for 24 hours?? Sorry if this has been mentioned before

Charge through USB 3 port... Fastest... :)

NOOO I have no concerns as to speed but if the micro iDSD's already fully charged, do we still have to leave it for near to 24 hours? (That and my laptop has no USB 3 port)

I only made the comment because iFi said to use the Supplied USB 3 Cable to charge the Micro...
Any USB port will do...

I don't believe there is any short cuts on the first 24 hours...

Hi,

Charge until full.

Does not not make how, who, when or where.

The previous manual tells you how you know when the unit is full. You need to read the manual to find out

Thanks!

Ohh… I thought the "charge for 24 hours before first use" would be because of something only for the micro iDSD's long-term battery preservation thing. I read it differently from "charge until full before first usage" which is quite commonly suggested. My bad guys

Thanks iFi!!

Hi,

Just to be 100% crystal, when you receive the micro iDSD, we strongly advise that you leave it OFF and charge it for ~24 hours (or until it is full).

This is so as to give the battery the very best start as it is brand new. This will maximise the battery life.

This is quite common knowledge - we are just stating the obvious really.

If you do not, you will not maximise the battery life. But you know we are a little OCD the technology so bear in mind if you play it straight out of the box, it does not "hurt" the battery. But we are really particular about squeezing the best. That is all so people, "Stay Calm and Keep on enjoying the tunes."

Thanks.

This is important....24h or full=until the blue led off?? because I assume is not necessary 24h to charge the battery. It will come with the battery totally drained?

Until full!!! unless it would take 24 hours to charge it full.

Hi,

Light goes off = full. This takes approx 24 hours. Obviously, depending upon the charge source (see before).

Brand new batteries seldom come full-charged. We haven't come across one as yet and we have seen a few.

The joys of mass production.

When you buy an iPhone or Tom Tom, they need a full charge from the get go. The micro iDSD is no different and as its battery is even bigger, it needs longer.

Hey, the micro iDSD needs to drive the HE-6, it ain't going to be a couple of AAAs!
