Impressive. Did you solder this in or reuse the connector? Would love some more detailed pictures.
Thanks! I actually reused the Molex 3-pin connector which is connected inside the unit to the power board. The wiring from it was not too long so I just soldered extra wires and put them into the shrink tube for better insulation. Then I soldered them to the charging board removed from the original battery. It is important to place that board in touch with the new battery so the thermistor can detect abnormal heat and stop charging.
Yeah, sorry, I should have taken more shots of the inside the case but there was nothing complicated with just taking the wires and routing them outside the case, so I didn't bother with it
It is a bit tricky to solder the wiring to the lipo battery terminals though. These are some brass alloy played with chrome or some other metal that can not be soldered. I had to file some surface to expose the inner layer and the soldered them to the wires leading to the board. Depending on the battery size you can try soldering the terminals directly to the board but in my case the size did not match so I had to resolve yo extra wiring.

Not sure about the latest Signature battery but the original Micro iDSD and the later Black edition use the same PL-M10 battery and can be upgraded to an external larger one as long as it's 3.7V type. I would still suggest that no more than 8000mAh battery is used as any larger capacity battery can take forever to charge even with a more powerful charger. A charge cable also plays some role. It's better to connect the female USB type A to the unit directly without any OTG or adapter in my opinion.

I am looking for help from people who had the older version 5.20 firmware and updated to 5.30. I've done the upgrade and I've gone through all the steps to setup Tidal for MQA. I tried playing Hifi and Master tracks on Tidal but my micro iDSD BL always shows green for both? What are the colours supposed to be if you're playing FLACs and what the colour supposed to be playing "Master" MQAs? It doesn't look like my unit is playing MQAs?

Thanks for asking! You should see magenta LED. If your micro iDSD BL displays green LED, this means that it receives PCM files from your transport. To send MQA files your transport needs to output bitperfect streams and as is it most likely doesn't. If I may ask what device you use to send music to your micro iDSD BL?

I am using Windows 10 with the Tidal app. I did something different last night and it changed something. Initially I installed the Windows USB Driver 5.12 and as described above, it only shows green for Hifi and Master. I uninstalled the 5.12 and installed the older Windows USB 2.0 Drivers 3.2. Now the light shows green while playing HiFi but YELLOW when playing Master(MQAs). But still not magenta.

How do I know if my Windows 10 laptop is sending bitperfect streams to the iDSD? And how do I get it to do that?
