ok, Firmware loaded, factory reset done, media service now stopped....roll on lunchtime so I can listen!

Sounds to me like the bass is a little (just a little) more boosted than 1.3.7. I also think the treble is cut slightly.  Need more ear time to be sure but it sounds ok, for me with k3003's the treble of 1.3.7 was a little too peaky so this might work out.  EQ is still as useless as a chocolate fireguard.

Yep, the Tera is magic but too special in sig and picky to be the ultimate all rounder.
Never sold it. Wanted to but just couldn't be bothered. And it still works well. I've got a Tera Player too and will add my thoughts comparing the two later. However let's just say preliminary findings is that the TP isn't an outright win as previous sentiments conveyed here. They both hold their ground well.

This off topic. Anyways did you listen to the Tera or are just trolling ?
there was a very funny story (as an experement) with Tera player in Russia, organized by Mycroft when people heard things, that were not there. Our mind is preaty much used to draw details that we want to hear. If we hear garmonics and distortion, we some times think it is smth else - natural detail sound for 850 dollar

. But the measurements for some reason do not correspond to graphics on Altman website.

The DX100 has grown up!

For me it seems much more refined sounding.... smaller more compact soundstaging, better solidity to the instruments. I am liking the treble now! Slightly rolled off but with a lot more weight!

No worries I am not a crazy fanboy. Listen to it with a pair of iems that go well and you will forget the graphs
Sorry for offtopic. I didn't have a chance to listen to it personally. I am refering to the thread on russian forums. Plus You can see the measurements which i provided. Never wanted to start any holywars on the subject.

If you like the SR-71b, you'd like the new 1.4.2 firmware :D.

Listening now on 1.4.2 and I have to say that so far, I'm impressed! Sounding very punchy, full-bodied and immediate. The highs are far better than 1.3.7, imo. The pinched sound has opened up. Only had twenty minutes so far, but I'm listening to random tracks and finding lots to commend... While I haven't heard any Ray Samuels gear, I think I understand the comments about warmth (but I do have an HM-801!).

All positive so far!

And I have to give iBasso due credit for continuing to release updates. In my experience very few companies bother...

I concur!  iBasso have been very good about continuing to develop and support their product.

The DX continues to morph. I have never had a device was is malleable or seen a company so amenable to changes.

How do You like the bass in comparison with 1.2.7?

I am not sure yet. It seems more pronounced. I don't want to jump to any conclusions until I listen more.
