Thanks man, for the reply.

the price is 130 euros, since I am in Europe too the shipping is not a problem either. I was just about to click on buy but then I saw interface is in French and there was no other information about how to change or is it changable

Apart from this online shop, all other prices were in over 160 euros so I decided to follow the french

if you know somewhere in EU and has a lower price, it would be much appreciated.

what is the battery life btw? I heard it is in the 'pros' list but I don't get any clear number. I will use mostly 320-mp3 and 16bit flacs.

man, get c3 from ebay seller from hong kong for 90 euros and do not subsidise lazy european shops who try to rip you off.

actually seller is not pollychen but another one, i will check and post it here.

hong kong and chinese merchants know how to walk around, so i had my C3 coming from China without any customs fee.

even if i had to pay customs i would order from china because i hate paying lazy shops who just work 5 hours 4 days a week and overcharge customers twice.

here is 4G version: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COLORFLY-C3-24bit-WAV-APE-FLAC-MP3-HiFi-Music-Player-/380343844383?pt=Other_MP3_Players&hash=item588e427e1f

and here 8G: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COLORFLY-C3-8GB-24bit-WAV-APE-FLAC-MP3-HiFi-Music-Player-/380423616266?pt=Other_MP3_Players&hash=item589303b70a

i would not pay a dime to my hifi dealers who stupidly offer me buy the same for 199 euros... i paid 90 euros from China. i do not know how much is custom tax but i cannot believe 199 euros (219 euros in shop) is because of tax, so i assume this is usual rip off European shops impose on their customers. it's not first time i experience this and we must put them down and out of business so others know what it cost.

the true story is that in China C3 retails for about 110$ 8G version + 16G card and case and cables. in HK same retails for 110$ only player.
now think how much C3 would cost if you buy 10-100 pieces from maker direct? i assume some 50$ per piece taxes + shipping. so now apply exchange rate and custom tax and you still cannot get to the selling price. 130 or 160 or 190 euros is just because they want you to pay their coffee + breakfast and short working hours... so it's about time to stop sponsor this socialism.

I found those links too but if I add taxes of Belgium and worldwide shipping cost, it is unfortunately the same. The real problem is the manufacturer is not in EU so it becomes a problem. Same is for headphones and other stuff too. Shure is an American brand, in the States people buy it for very small amount of money but when they ship it to EU we pay way much more in here. I think EU products cost a little bit more in the States too. The world works in a different way than it should.

Thanks anyway, I think I will get it from EU so if something happens, I need a warranty or something, it will be easier too. I will not have to send it to China. If there was no custom tax problem, ebay was a perfect choice but, d*mn.

I will also send email to colorfly eu, maybe they have a distributor or local shop in Belgium.

i live in Austria which is the worst tax nightmare in EU besides Denmark and similar, still i get all my packages from HK, USA and China free of hassle. i paid my C3 from China and it came tax free, do not know how but it worked fine in my case.

do not want to insist though so if you feel more comfortable about purchasing in EU then go ahead. just make sure they also commit to warranty.

Yes, that's the reason I want to buy from around too. I already sent an email to colorfly, eu. I will wait for their reply maybe they have a shop or something in here.

This C3 will give me a few years so I can save some money from older brother C4

I was just getting around to making the purchase from the seller bigbargainsonline sometime this week and then I just read this post.  Are you saying with the 8GB version, they're also throwing in a 16GB card?  I didn't know this as I don't see it listed in their ebay ad.  The reason I'm asking is this would save me from purchasing an additional microSD card to expand the C3's capacity?

I got mine from bigbargains and it just came with the ear buds, soft case, charger, USB cable.

I also received it 6 days after it was ordered. Others who ordered from China waited 2 weeks+...

Another thing to weigh against who to buy from, 16 GB uSD cards are very cheap, and you can order that silicon case anytime for $4. The choice is ultimately yours to make time vs extras... :D

I got mine from the same place, no card but did come with other stuff.  Fairly quick delivery.  As for Colorfly Corp. (Colorful), they will not warranty Chinese-purchased items.  I posted something a while back about that.  If you live near Germany, it's probably worth it to buy from a European seller.  Here's a list of where, taken from the Colorfly site:
http://www.colorfly.eu/where_to_buy_oview.html

Great device, well worth the money.

Note:  If you decide to buy the C4, and you buy it from China, you probably will not be able to update firmware because of that.  They seem pretty adamant about it, you have to give a verified serial # to get a download.

I found out this morning a mates sister has the SE425s and a J2, so i'm heading up there on wednesday with my SE215s. I know the J2 will sound completely different than the C3 and even the S9, but will give me a chance to compare the 2 IEMs. If I can tweak the J2 to sound close to how I remember the S9 sounding, I may be able to see (hear) if im happy with the SE425s. I hope so as I like everything about the 425s (sq pending).

KOVA, thanks for the link to ljokers post, interesting reading, but will leave me somewhat confused what IEMs to buy if im not happy with the 425s.

Just got back from my mates place, and i'm sold on the SE425s. After listening to them for just over an hour and comparing them to the SE215s with several of my favorite tracks I love the sound of the SE425s, exactly what i'm after (more good luck than anything else).  So my new toys will be the Colorfly C3 with a C&C BH amp, the SE425s and a Pailiccs Baolong 10cm cable, All for the bargin price of AU$530 (SHMBO was told $300 to prevent WWIII). So now have to wait for everything to get here. It will be a long week or so. lol

Thanks everyone for their help and advice and i'll let you know how it all sounds.

No, burgainonline sells C3 without micro sd card but else goodies are included like silicon case, USB cable, power adapter, and i hear they enclose some cheap IEMs with it.

from Mistertao where i ordered you get the same package also including all cables and case... but instead of cheapo IEMs you can get 16G card if you wish. alternatively you can buy only C3 and this will be cheaper as well. i find 16G card more useful than some cheapo IEMs i am not going to use anyway.

for the sake of simplicity and fast shipping i would recommend bargainonline but mistertao was good enough for me and took 3 weeks so not overly long knowing how quick is Chinese post.

as regards warranty C3 is bloody cheap so i would not bother but in case you buy in Europe cheapest i find in Germany or Austria retails for 189 euros. so better buy two C3 from HK and use one as backup :)
