Travelite, thanks for posting this! I will be getting the 880s. For a long time now I've wanted a headphone that combines the great bass of the DT770 Pro with a better midrange and treble...maybe this is the one! A frequency response that extends to 5 Hz is great!

The DT770 and DT990 have also been slightly redesigned - they now look cool:

And - this is very thrilling - the DT880 comes in an aluminium box!!

"The headphone comes in a stylish aluminium box. In this box you can keep your headphone safe from dust and dirt. A 5 m long extension cable is included."

Check out their newest pdf catalog for headphones:

It's got some more pictures including nice pics of the DTXX0 series worn and a pic of a chick using DT831 in a convertable car. There's also a pic of a bIaTCH using the DT531 directly out of one of those cheap ass panasonic pcdp's

Either way, check it out.

Similar to the legendary DT 880 we introduce the new DT 990...

I found this line really funny, seeing as DT880 is the new kid on the block...

How about this then:

"Our designers took different human anatomies into consideration and made the headband more variable in lengths in order to fit perfectly on everyone's head. The tight headband pressure that is used for professional versions was reduced for this version to guarantee permanent listening without a "vice-like grip". "

Headband extends further, cups aply less pressure.

YEEESH I WANT THIS HEADPHONE!!!

Has it got something to do with different anatomical parts?

Actually, if you read Jan's post, the 880 is a revamped old design (albeit, possibly completely reworked). Sorry to burst your bubble.
