According to the distributor there are no sonic differences between the DT770PRO (old model) and the new DT770. The latter is just a little bit more comfortable and quite a lot more expensive. The new model can be ordered but I will not have it on stock.

Cheers,

Jan

ahh never mind then!

Really? They're jacking the price up on the new version of the DT770s? Will the the old version still be available indefinately, or is your current stock all you'll ever have of them?

Well, a little bit more comfortable for some may be the difference between comfort and agony for others.

My experience with the Beyer 250-80 was a miserable one because the headphone was so uncomfortably tight and did not extend long enough for me to get my ears near the sweet spot. The sound was great, and I wish I could have kept them, but the discomfort with using this headphone far outweighed the sonic benefit.

I will seriously consider ordering the DT770's now, even at their higher price.

Don't think I can--it's in the language known as 'ascii' isn't it?

Dear Headfellows,

Just wanted to let you know that the distributor told me that all three new models (DT770, DT880, DT990) have been delayed and (hopefully) will be released in January.

Cheers,

Jan

First impressions:

Deep bass, sonically a clear family of the DT990/DT770. Not as bright/fast as the DT831/DT931

Cool box and extension cord added.

More later, after a decent break-in.

Cheers,

Jan

Sounds like it's nice! I look forward to hearing more about them. Hopefully I'll be getting something to replace the 580's soon. While I've been focused on the Audio Technica headphones the 880 has been lurking in the back of my mind but not knowing anything about it's sound has held me back from considering it.
