I am surprised to read that it sounds bright considering the tuning of the Z5 and Z7. Sounds like it holds up well against the big boys for regular use.

Yeah I am all about that portable player life now, loving the convenience :)

Mayhaps that's why they tune their headphones and iem on the warm side

You know, synergy and all...

Well, looks like the cat's out of the bag. Zach is soon releasing his first all-original design. Say hello to the Atticus and Eikon dynamic driver headphone:

It is.  Smoother and warmer. 'Tis the Sony sig.

That's interesting. I haven't listened to a Sony player since minidisc days, and back then the TOTL Sony MD players sounded very clean, crisp, and airy. Sharp was a bit warmer / fuller. Kenwood was warm / rich.

I can go and demo ZX2 30 minutes away, actually I can demo everything in this store below. HD800s, 64 Audio etc etc..

But I'm a very lazy individual and can't be bothered most of the time.

Audioquest Nighthawks (@waynes world you finally got me curious enough to check em out) vs V-moda Crossfade Wireless

Who will win? Who will leave? Who will empty my wallet?

Stay tuned to find out!

Lol! I'm glad that you're getting the chance to try them out. Remember that most people believe that they really do respond to quite a bit of burn in.

I love my M100's, but the NH's are in a different league - the NH's will be with me always!  Btw I'm sporting HM5 hybrid pads on the NH's, and they sound stellar.

This is a well used pair so I am assuming its been broken in, pads and all.

Ah the Crossfade wireless is tuned differently from the M100 from what I remember. But yes the NH are in a different league, quite a few tiers about the Crossfade wireless. I got a nice portable cable with the NH and I love running them out of my phone. They are already comfortable but I am curious how the HM5 angled pleather pads change things. The hybrid is non angle right?

Can you touch on the sound differences you noticed with the pad change? Got me quite curious now darn you Wayne... :p

Once my ears get accustomed to the NH's with stock pads, I can (and want to) listen to them forever. But I am forced to switch to closed headphones and earbuds now and then, and sometimes when switching back to the NH's, the bass seemed a bit boomy resulting in a somewhat muddy sense through the lower mids. I heard this a few times when switching back to them but thought I must be imagining things because I had been previously listening to them very happily for weeks straight (power of ears/brain to adapt). Anyway, I read this post, and that prompted me to try the HM5 hybrids. He felt more negatively about the stock pad sound than I do, but some of what he said resonated so I got the HM5's. With them the bass and muddyness issues are completely gone but all of the NH's goodness is retained, so simply put they sound just about perfect to me. Love them.

Thanks Wayne! Thats the issue I am facing. Once I start listening to only the NH I am in haven but if I have to use something else and comeback to it, the balance seems off until I adjust again. I freaking love it though. I think I might be buying it lol

I just got word form Chord&Major that I'll be getting two of their Tonal Earphones in for review. Any of you have experience with them?
