Sounds good, could you send out the music list?

I'm planning on using three different setups

1) MacBook Air>Amarra 3.02>Meier Daccord>Meier Classic  I can source 256bits-24/96

2) Astell Kern AKll>balanced ALO MKlllB+  24/44-24/192

3) Rockboxed iPod 5.5>FiiO E11   256bits+-16/48

I totally get the 320bit vs. high res argument it's not just space, but cost, although it is not particularly entertaining Dr.Cheskys ultimate headphone disc can be helpful, it basically gives you back to back compressed and uncompressed sounds for comparison.

If anyone is looking into selling any mid-fi headphones with a dark tilt, please bring them. After adjusting to my new speakers, my HE-300 are underwhelming. I'll be looking to sell and switch out while I'm there.

I plan on giving the Ed 8s a listen some day... Heard they're pretty good with electric guitars, which I listen to a lot .

Speaking of Purdue, Breezy looked really good tonight!! If we hadn't had the @#$% fumble in OT, we stand a fantastic chance of winning that game. Arrrghh...

Nah, the Big 10 has earned it-- chat away! Also, what fun would all this be if we couldn't jaw with each other about it a little?

Hey man! Hate you'll miss it, but hopefully we'll be able to make this a more regular thing, so you might be able to join us next time!

I work with a lady that's a big Bengals fan. I don't mind the Bengals at all, and beating the Ravens is definitely a step in the right direction within the division. Going to be interesting seeing how the Steelers turn out... I was looking through some statistical breakdowns of different trends and rankings in the NFL over several years, and the Steelers struck me as the most cyclical team in the NFL, with a pattern of something like 1-2 good years, 2-3 bad years, and 1-2 awful years before starting over. (That may not have been the exact pattern, so don't hold me to that).

My Saints lost today though, in pretty gut-wrenching fashion, and to the Dirty Birds, no less... Hopefully PFM and the Broncos will save the day tonight with a good-lookin' win. We'll see .

Clamping force on circumaurals doesn't bother me much, but I'm not a fan of vice-like clamps on supra-aurals. Having calcified cauliflower ear probably explains my wimpiness :p. And yeah, even though I doubt I'd end up being able to get a set of HE400i without paring down the collection a bit, I'm still pretty excited to hear them... HFM puts really, really good sound within the reach of a lot of people, and I'm interested to see how it holds up against some incredibly stiff competition at the meet. Plus, we'll all get to chip in and help you find a perfect amp for that sucker!!! :D

i was giddy !!!! go birds !!!

Rumay you are just the MAN with those set-ups for the meet.  Maybe print some business cards for the occasion??

BWT, I am not a fan of the Big 10 or 12 or however many there are now.  Feel free to bash them.  I enjoyed my time at Purdue but that was years ago.  It's a good school.  Was a bit surprised the NCAA gave back rights to PS today.  I don't agree with that decision.

My NFL preferences are:  #1 - Titans.  Hey, it's the Nashville meet and my home town.  #2 - Saints.  The wife hails from NO and the family lives there.  So - we cheer for the Saints unless they're playing the Titans.  Also, Drew is a pretty good QB and a Purdue man.  He's done great things for the local NOLA community.  #3 - Bengals.  Lived in Cinti for five years and feel their pain.  Carson Palmer was the QB when I was there.

Also, I can devour a 5-way chili at Gold Star or Skyline - not much better except in Texas.

Related to HP, I am looking for a better amp to drive my LCD-X and in the future HD800 (still to acquire but surely on my list).  I've heard great things about the Taurus.  However, I am concerned their company is on the other side of the world.  Anyone have an opinion?  I am also interested in opinions about experience with the Sennheiser HDVD800 DAC/amp that should pair well with the HD800.

Thank you all.

Dick,

You are a Gentleman, and a Diplomat! I share our Theogenes love for the Saints, from way back in the "Aint" days, very surprisingly the Titans looked great yesterday, though if I hopped on that wagon  would be as a fair weather fan. I also was very surprised the NCAA gave PS back their rights, the sins of their Administration go far beyond cheating for an edge on the field!

I would love to listen to the LCD X and compare them too the 560's and Alpha Dogs! Truely diplomatic and wise on the chili, Texas uber all.

Theo, any chance one of our Company is on the Ragnorik Beta List, he says hopefully

For the record:

1)  My username is a reference to Skyline Chili.

2)  Dalton > Palmer.

I lived in Cincy back in the 80s/early 90s.   Was around for the Reds' World Series win in 90...good times.

RCBinTN the Titans showed up and played on Sunday.  Some experts had them picked last, well they looked pretty good on the road in KC.

As far as setups for the HD800, they've scaled up with every audio upgrade I've made, I'm still at a loss as to when the cost/quality curve is too steep.  They sound really good with the Meier stack but that is all solid state, so if anyone is bringing tube amps I have to hear them.

The LCD-X, HE-560, and Alpha Dogs are 3 HP's I would really love to hear.

I can't wait to hear different setups and different HP's I came so close to buying the Grado PS500, I actually bought them at a discount on Amazon 2 years ago and the dealer claimed he was out of product, so I guess I really didn't buy them.

Just got back, long day tomorrow so I'm hitting the sack-- but I wanted to let y'all know that a big Hifiman box happened to show up today, so I predict a lot of fun for us at this meet

See you guys tomorrow! ! (Or the day after, if the day ends up being too crazy).

Any mid-fi or better closed cans coming? I'm really considering going to a closed can for bass impact.

I will be bringing my Alpha Dogs, think there will be Audeze X's and ZMF's.
