Has anyone ordered from MP4Nation before? Just wondering if it is better to buy from ibasso direct?

Has anyone tried hires files ripped in ALAC format. Just curious if there were any issues before I hit the order button. I am currently using a ipod classic with a separate amp.

 
I'm using 24/96 ALAC and FLAC files and no problems.

  NP, I don't have golden ears by any stretch.  I tried many earphones last year but I couldn't find any universals that could give me what I wanted to hear.  As comparison, I tried UE triplefi 10, SE535 LE, Sony EX1000, IE8 etc but it wasn't until I auditioned the customs that I found my perfect earphones.  I tried the JH and UE range and settled on the UE18 pros, the JH16 had too much bass for my tastes but it was like the previously veiled sound was lifted and I was suddenly hearing the music clearly
That's how I feel about the DX50 it is good but there's something that is lacking and listening the DX100 it's like a veil is lifted.  This is a really expensive hobby but I have also owned other DAPS and phones, the closest in SQ was the Sony NZ1070 and that had to be amped with a Ray Samuels SR71A to be acceptable.  The DX100 from last year and the UE18 made me satisfied.  The problem with this hobby is that we constantly want more

 
I'm guessing the DX100 is more resolving and the DX50 is more laid back?

I've ordered from mp4nation a couple of times before, delivery was really slow for me. 1st order was about 7 weeks and the second order was about 6-7 weeks, but they were small orders.

Never ordered from them although have read plenty of posts over my time about their slow processing/delivery times.

Makes sense.  Some items were slow in the past but thankfully they have distribution center in the US now and they use FedEx 2 day shipping on a few items so it's getting better.

The name encompasses it all. Crappy product overall. 2 defective units dispatched to my house. The first one looked like it was whipped off of someones roof... The second one would take longer to charge than it would play lol. It took well over 2 months to get a replacement unit. The second time around they couldn't provide me with a new unit with the same capacity (I think 64GBs) so I just got a refund. Still out though on the shipping... The return unit was stuck in customs and they didn't take any action until I kept complaining to them about it. The unit had the worst UI I've used on a DAP thus for me calling it SLO2 . When you think hisound UI is bad think of the SFLO2 and it all of a sudden becomes a pretty good UI lol.

I know you definitely need one if I wanted to use say a pair of Sennheiser HD 600s but I was wondering whether I needed an amp at all to power my HD 25s. I personally don't think so but I need to confirm it haha

 
I dont agree. The DX50 adequately drives my HD600s without an amp. As I mentioned earlier, that does not mean an amp would not improve the sound of harder to drive HPs, but no benefit unless its a pretty high end amp IMHO. The internal amp in the DX50 is quite strong. Definitely better on par with devices like Fiio E17 etc. But that amp does not improve the SQ at all. To me it was worse.
 
The DX50 would easily drive HD25s as it does my DT250-80s.
 
Now, that said, as I wrote earlier, I see the DX50 as a purely portable DAP. For that, its slightly warm signature is ideal in overcoming intrusive outside noise. If I am going to listen to HD600s, it's at home in a quiet room coming straight from my home setup or at least my DX100 which is just that bit better than the DX50 (as it should be at 3 times the price).

I have a lot of times. They have seriously picked up their game communication and shipping-wise and even if you're not included in the countries which get free FedEx, they still are pretty fast and always use SingPost. I'm in Europe and I don't remember any order that took more than 10-12 days tops to arrive, which is pretty darn good for free shipping.

Thanks for the detail analysis, the thing about Zero padding is really a pain, is that what everyone is doing to make sure their album plays into the correct order?

i wonder why this is the case when virtually all PC and Android/ iOS apps that I have used had no trouble playing albums I ripped using EAC/dbpoweramp except for the Oppo Media Comtroller app.
