Order # 851 has shipped, time for me to start whining about FedEx, rather than Schiit.

what happened??

The yggy would input a audio signal but would not output any audio signal to the rag. I tried over 5 different sources, that used a coaxial cable or a optical cable. I still need to get a cheap laptop computer, however being a audiophile I purchased a dac, before I had a computer lol.

Bass was ENORMOUS like nothing I have ever heard (is this the fabled Moffat bass?), soundstage was wider, volume was significantly louder requiring the vol pot to be turned down about 1.5 O'Clocks to match last night's sound meter level, and everything just felt lusher.

Nope that's not it, but it's a hint. I have clocked 62 hours and the bass is getting there. But it's not there yet. I have the "trademark" Moffatt bass right here side by side (the Theta Gen V).

Today the Yggdrasil noticeably move away from that too bright and dry sound of yesterday. This is getting good - I am starting to hear some more liquidity, flow and harmonic richness going. It's starting to relax and I am getting less of an itch to switch back to the Theta for musical enjoyment. But that said still prefer the Gen V.

Tthis is for the guys ,that have received delivery of the Yiggy.

Which input are most of you using ..
As I understand it,all inputs are supposed to put out the same quality, sound
Is this correct,or,,should I use all,and select the one that sounds best to me
I'm using the toslink connection, with my Theta, and it sound pretty damn good.

What the general consensus?

I have been looking at a tube amp that does not have balanced inputs. The Yggy is supposedly best with balanced out. How much would be lost, if any, using a Xlr to rca cable? Should only an amp with balanced in be considered?

Essentially what that type of cable does is tie either the + or (usually) the - output, to chassis ground.
This in effect modulates ground on the downstream device.  This is one of the reasons they add differential to SE circuitry, for the SE line outputs.

And usually you can make this change without to much of a problem, unless a ground loop is formed.
In which case you'll know almost immediately.
And there is the possibility that the balanced outputs since they are seeing an 'unusual' load, will also respond in an 'unusual' manner.
This in some cases can have audible consequences.
And I don't know if the Jggy is immune to this sort of situation, or not.
I figure there is only one way to find out…

Try it, or just use the SE outputs instead, or both, just to find out.

AES-EBU if you have it.

What source are you basing this off of? There aren't many sources with AES-EBU readily available, would you recommend a USB converter with an AES-EBU output as opposed to USB straight?

Someone suggested the Coincident Turbo 845 SE integrated amplifier and it looks to be really nice, but has only rca input. The DiaLogue Premium HP Integrated Amplifier looks good too and has a headphone section and what they call " Adaptive Auto Bias" which appeals to me since I don't know about fiddling with tubes, but is also only rca as well.. The Eddie Current 2a3 MKIV seems to be good too but also unbalanced.
