Say G., since you're now the apple of Yamagishi-san's eye would you mind alternatin between Kaede and SUI in the subject of your posts? I'm tryin to do my part in expanding the ranks of our cult club by spreading the joys of SUI to someone else.

^   The only trouble with that is I haven't actually heard the SUIs (or KUROs), and you must understand that even full-time shills (like me) now and again have a bit of a conscience & rigour left (read: I won't allow myself to tout the SUIs or KUROs because I haven't heard them). Interestingly enough, all I've been getting are the generous commissions I mentioned earlier but no extra complimentary sets of SUIs & KUROs — all I got was a free pair of KAEDEs.

Also from their website, there will be another production batch of Flat4-Kaede coming out in September.

From their webpage:

Flat4-楓の在庫が切れましたのでお知らせ致します。
極少量ですが、音茶楽店舗分として9月初旬に最終生産を予定しております。

Translation:
I now inform that our current stock of Flat4-Kaede has run out.
There will be a final batch of extremely low quantity in production, scheduled for early September.

What I take from this is that Ocharaku intend to manufacture a small number of additional KAEDE from the original piece of maple. If so, will they be exactly the same in sound as the first run? That is an interesting question...

I had 2xretailers tell me the last run was last month :frowning2:. Seems no one in the business here (in Tokyo) knows the true facts :frowning2:. I would have preferred if they told me that they didn't know than to state absolutes.

It seems that the 200 units limit has not been reached. When I got what they say belong to the "last batch", the SN is only M152.

You don't have the Kaedes yet?

However as I remember, Music has M176. They said that the 200 were cured together so I believe that these will be new and in addition to the 200.

Edit: Unless they cured all 200 as they said but didn't otherwise manufacture/assemble some of the sets. Then it might be the remainder of the 200 and a very small quantity indeed.

Can the Kaede owners please comment on how they like this track from their gear?

Its probably the last unit MA is going to get stock of by the looks of it. It just does not make sense to me on why would they want to discontinue one of their best sellers. The wood surely cannot be that exotic and hard to find.

Also correct me if I am wrong but any wood based IEM seems to have a limited life, with time the maple will require maintenance to remain in the same condition. It will become porous over time.

The lacquering is intended to address that. From the Ocharaku site:

Lacquer is sap collected from lacquer trees and a natural coating material obtained through natural elements: sun, soil, and water. Lacquer soaks into wood and is hardened, then has the excellent durability.

Thanks,  I am incredibly tempted to try Orcharaku sound and it seems Kuro is the perfect candidate as it seems to have the Kaede sound without the need of such maintenance.
