I'm completely illiterate when it comes to shopping for external CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drives. I have a $50 Best Buy gift card on the other hand and I figured I might as well use it on an external drive.

Do you guys have any recommendations for shopping for one and/or are the ones in that list any good? I would prefer to get a drive that's less than $100 and Blu-Ray is optional/not-needed for me.

I should also mention that I plan to use this with Mac OS.

I was honestly looking at the Apple SuperDrive because I know for a fact that's Mac OS compatible and it has a nice form factor. Then everyone is all like "ah, but it's Apple........and it's overpriced." *no other explanation*

Is this one okay? It's on sale at the moment.

Any help is appreciated!

Fak you Annie....

So Armin's plan was to capture Annie all along?

Indifference... Sadly how I currently feel towards this episode. Maybe it's just the lack of sleep....

I would recommend looking at online feedback and official reviews for official models.

Every company has good and bad drives. Feedback on bestbuy can clue you in on potential physical issues or if something doesn't work, and official reviews for ext drives can clue you in on specific models that are extremely good. Checking bestbuy website and ordering or ordering to store can thus place you in the best position.

Honestly I hate online feedback reviews.

They're all like:
  1. "this drive is crap"
  2. "nuh-uh, this drive is awesome!"
  3. "this drive died in a month"
  4. "I've had this for a year and it works flawlessly"
  5. "this drive is so slow!"
  6. "this drive works as advertised"
  7. etc.

The same thing goes for hard drives and it makes shopping impossible.
  1. WD sucks!
  2. Seagate sucks!
  3. Corsair sucks!
  4. WD is awesome!
  5. Seagate is awesome!
  6. Corsair is awesome!
  7. Samsung is the best!

And that's why I'm asking here because you PC gurus probably know better answers/products.

Made some burgers with my dad. I don't even like the ones in chain fastfoods, but homemade are usually pretty great. No comparison.

You did something with your father! And it didnt end in a disagreement! Adopt me now pls!

;-P

Gourmet burgers are good too... fastfood isn't the only place you find burgers.
Needless to say gourmet burgers are much more expensive... the one I just ate ended up nearly 18$ with tax and our nation's beautiful obligatory 15% tips for the terrible service we received.

Home made is fine too :D

And thats probably my least favorite imas song. Always like... Whyyyyyyy

Dumb advice bowei.

Doesn't always give you the best idea. If it's generally good, then go for it.

Why bestbuy... newegg for HDD random reviews. Or amazon. Why bestbuy.

At least it's somewhat funny. When it has something to do with America, it has to have something to do with hamburgers and sound like an really old TV commercial song. Better than some meh sped-up Electro Pop song.

Lol no doubt but it's still so weight...
and wasn't it Takane's favorite song in imas2? or something...
Never want to choose it.

You need root for that.
Frankly, I'm not sure if Boris is quite ready for root yet or not...
Can't you get google play cards over there in HK?

Nope they dont sell em here.
Tonnes of apple iTunes store cards though.....

Yeah, I guess different people had different experience with them....
4 hitachi drives died on my hands so now I'm only getting WD drives lol.
I guess the best way to choose is to look at objective measurements (i.e. R/W speeds and reliability data from the manufacturers.)

On Sept 5th, Guinness World Records named "Sazae-san" ( http://myanimelist.net/anime/2406/ ) the Longest Running Cartoon on this planet. The TV anime series is based on the manga ( http://myanimelist.net/manga/13192/ ) written by Hasegawa Machiko from 1946. It started airing from Oct 1969 and is now approaching the 46th anniversary. So far more than 2200 broadcasts have been made. The previous holder of the record was the American cartoon show "The Simpsons".
