No harm done.

The price on these is definitely going up each year.

I know that the green L3000 is (maybe) the hardest to get, but 15000 USD?

The L3000G is definitely the hardest Audio-Technica to come by, just based on the number produced alone. I was shocked when I saw how much they go for too!

These W3000ANV cans are mighty tempting. To those who have owned it and have given it a good listen, are they worth getting? What is their sound signature like?

Also, how often does Audio Technica release limited edition headphones such as these? There seems to be many limited edition AT cans over the past couple of years.

Lots of good impressions in this thread if you go back a bit.

As for how often limited headphones are released:

1996 = W10VTG
1997 = W10LTD
1998 = W11JPN
2000 = W11R
2001 = W2002 (40th Anniversary)
2011 = W3000ANV (50th Anniversary)

As you can see, they used to release them every year or so. After the W2002 though, they seem to be limited to anniversaries only. Also keep in mind there are non-limited edition woodies that they release every now and then:

1999 = W100
2002 = W1000
2005 = W5000
2010 = W1000X

If that pair has Moon Audio cables on them, then they were here at one stage for a couple of days.

I'm not going to take them, at least not untill I see some photos.
A bit worried about the scratches tbh., and the 7/10. We'll see when the pics show up. I remember you saying these have a nice balanced sound.
And keeping some hobby money aside in case a nice pair of leatherheads shows up.
There must be a pair out there with my name on it.  :)

Based on looks I would like the w10VTG better. Haven't heard them so can't say anything about the sound.
Nice you put that list with limited editions up, I saved it for future reference in case something shows up in the FS/FT forums.

It's a funny headphone, the W10VTG. I've owned two, and they sounded quite different. Positioning is much more important with them than with the W3000s, and I ultimately found them much more fatiguing. Gorgeous wood, easy to drive and on some music really lovely-sounding, but nowhere near the resolution, soundstaging or overall SQ of their bigger (and pricier) brothers. Still have a soft spot for them, but they'd get no head-time these days round my gaffe.

Thanks for your impressions.
I think I'll only add two more to my current ATH's though, a W5000 and an L3000 if I get lucky.
