Glorious! I expect a thorough and detailed report of your findings.

On another note...seems that everytime I read through this thread I wind up whipping up a bowl 10 minutes later.

I don't know if anyone had mentioned this; eating ramen dry as a snack food is a great way to munch on something that's low in Na and fat

Not to mention free of perservatives and artificial flavorings.

By "fresh" I should have stated that I'm getting the noodles from the oriental market's refrigerated section. They come with their own soup base packet.

Haven't eaten dry ramen straight out of it's bag with the soup stock as flavoring in years. In my elementary school years it was a favorite snack among me and my school mates.

I heard that dry ramen is the same thing as eating the boiled noodles since it was deep-fried beforehand. This was on Good Eats on the Food Network. Something that's deep fried? Who would say no.?

I believe that is correct, I read somewhere that the fry the noodles to remove moisture before packaging. I don't know how that works but that's what I read.

Not using the flavor packets does seriously cut the sodium intake down though.
