Ramen-Fi!
Nov 29, 2007 at 3:59 PM Post #16 of 185
I make my own DIY Noodle-FI. I get the noodles from a local oriental food store. For the base, I use some beef stock, a little shoyu, one drop of sesame oil, and some Shichimi Togarashi.

To the boiling stock go the noodles, thinly sliced beef, bok choy, and mushrooms.

Mmmmmmm.....

awwwww, man. I love bok choy. I forgot all about it! My wife's put that in our ramen before, as well.

Ramen noodles were standard fare on weekend rock climbing trips.

Gotta love the aftertaste and breath :-/

Aha, so ramen is some kind of noodles. Thanks for clarifying.
Cause I have seen it mentioned multiple times around here, and had no clue what it is.

You can have the lutefisk. Cause I certainly wont touch it.

Yes, ramen is a noodle dish. It is wildly cheap with a cult-like following. Read more here.

Excerpt from the "Pastafarian Prayer":

"... For thine is the garlic
And the onion and the bay leaves
For ever and ever.
Ramen."

Anyone tasted the mama pad thai? I've enjoyed their pork flavor a lot and have bought around 7 boxes of them. Bought a shrimp flavored box also which I threw away as it tasted foul. I've seen great reviews of the pad thai one though!

My next box is either mama pad thai on shin ramyun, I have to do the trip though so I wouldn't be surprised if I bought both lol!

Mama pad thai isn't bad. I do agree about the shrimp. Tasted like doodie.

Completely agree with this, I ate this pretty much every day for lunch in high school (the corner store sold it and had cups as well as a kettle) and now I usually end up buying it in those 20 pack cases.

Samyang is also good. I love spicy food...

Usually 1 egg and scallions, maybe other random things in the fridge.

Dude... You're killing me! A LOCAL ramen shop? The closest one to me is 1300 miles to the north in NYC!
