Very nice!! I see that you have a K1000 with the new cable. How does it sound?

As answered before I both make the cable and install the cable onto all headphones including the K1000's.

There are quite a few people who have their K1000 recabled by APureSound in both the old V2 and the new V3.

The time to make the actual cable is quite time consuming but then so is installing the new cable onto the K1000's carefully since the diaphragm and voice coil is visible in all 3 versions of the K1000's (yes there are 3 actual different constructions).
Thanks,
Alex

I know this is a rather cheeky thing to ask and is outside your normal range of operations but..
is there any possibility of having the grills sent off during the mod to be black powder coated or anodized by anyplace near you?
I'd probably screw something up if I tried to dismantle them myself, but the idea of an all black K1K is very appealing. I'd do the headbands myself but removing the grills gives me the willies. If not, that's ok. Never know unless you ask!

Yep something like that shouldn't be a problem at all as long as you are willing to cover all the costs to have the powder coating / anodizing done.

Smeggy... are you HarryT from the mobiread pages? If so, thanks for the Charles Dickens!
If not, it looks like you have a popular avatar.

Now that sounds pretty awesome! I was hoping there might be an elegant way to tone down the "cell phone tower" look that I have when wearing my K1000s.
