Help me choose a Grado!
I have tested 3 different Grado models at a store; specifically the 60, 80, and 225. All three were sourced through some Marantz CD player and powered by a Rega Ear amplifier. The music used during the comparison was rock, specifically Black Sabbath (only rock music available). Please keep in...- Kerby88

I just don't trust these HD650s as being legit
Doing a search on their address via the Sennheiser dealer location finder, they don't appear to be an official dealer which might void the warranty (assuming you make the purchase). Why not order from the States? Already taking into consideration that the loonie dwindled against the greenback, I...- Kerby88

HD600 vs HD650?
I can attest that the HD580 (HD600) does not sound exactly like the HD650. All things equal, the bass of the HD580 appears to be "tighter" whereas the HD650 bass seems to "linger" (slower decay?). The HD580 had HD600 grills and a HD650 cable. Both headphones had the white metallic acoustic...- Kerby88

new HD650 trounces old HD650?
Hello From my experience, the new HD650 (white damping material) does not sound like the new HD580 (white-damping material). The HD650 I used was completely stock without any modification. The Hd580 on the other hand, was a modified edition with the HD600 grills and HD650 cable virtually making...- Kerby88

Ray Samuel Tomahawk, anything similar?
Sized Up: RSA Hornet vs Headamp Pico vs RSA Tomahawk I would hardly consider that a significant difference. Still, I do not know how accurate those measurements are as the comparison was done previously by someone else.- Kerby88

Ray Samuel Tomahawk, anything similar?
Why not look into the headamp PICO w/o DAC? Is it still an option? I believe the price and size are nearly identical to the Tomahawk.- Kerby88

Which Portable amp should I go for HD650 ?
Speaking of portable amps, I currently use a portable to power my full size headphones. However there seems to be a lot of potential lost in the process. I'd definately suggest a full size amp if you don't want to compromise on the dynamics.- Kerby88

The Stax thread (New)
Hello This was the thread I was looking for. Currently I am a dynamic headphone user. However, as of late, the thought of possibility of trying electrostatics has recently crossed my mind. What would be a good place to start in the Stax line up? At my present location, I must say it is quite...- Kerby88

Questions about RSA Predator Portable Amp
1.Basically in "layman's" terms, higher gain equates to higher volume. Usually harder to drive cans require higher gain to provide enough volume. This is just in simple terms. 2. Try on of those "livestrong" armbands or velcro, those seem to be the most common options.- Kerby88
