Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

Found some tubes that won't be used and feeling generous. The first to DM their mailing address (within the contiguous 48 please) will receive an early Christmas present. Very cheap way to roll some tubes in your Gen 2. Congratulations Tralfaz! They're headed your way.

    Introducing the HIFIMAN Sundara Closed-Back

Yes, different setups can have different sounds. If I want to listen to big, spacious, and musical - I go to my music room and do so with a different set of headphones. If I just want to jam - I plug directly into my laptop or phone. The sound card on my laptop isn't pushing any amount of...

    Introducing the HIFIMAN Sundara Closed-Back

Original pads are replaceable. They are glued to the OEM mounting ring. I had to sacrifice the original pads in order to re-use the mounting ring with my new pads as Dekoni doesn't offer an after-market mounting ring for the Closed Backs.

    Introducing the HIFIMAN Sundara Closed-Back

FLAC files on a dedicated computer into a Teac UD501, Topping E70 or Topping E70V then sent to a Topping L70, Woo WA6, or a Rotel Component system feeding a VinylFlat Can Opener. Lossless play with no DSP. The Sundara CB is a dark sounding headphone to me. No DSP either when plugged into the...

    Introducing the HIFIMAN Sundara Closed-Back

Bought a pair of Dekoni Elite Fenestrated pads with the hopes of increasing treble response. They helped a little. My Beyerdynamic T90 and Denon AH-D5000 have spoiled me. I think my Sundara CB sounds better when driven by my computer vs. any of my headphone amps. Go figure...

    Introducing the HIFIMAN Sundara Closed-Back

Great question! I'm using the low-output setting on my WA6. I rarely use the high-output setting with low-impedance phones because, in my opinion, it ups the mids a bit much for my tastes. My T90s, being a 250 ohm headphone, sound great on either setting. I think our experiences are an...

    Introducing the HIFIMAN Sundara Closed-Back

After owning the Sundara Closed Back for a couple of weeks, I've had time to try them with different amps and DACs. I can't say that I've heard any difference between the 3 DACs I currently own. What I have noticed is the difference between my three amps. When played through the two...

As you can see in the picture below, I have what could be considered 5 different ways to power my small collection of headphones. I've been trying the different configurations available over the past couple of weeks and have come to the decision that I like them all but for different reasons...

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread

How are they wearing out? Are you experiencing electronic issues or are the ear pads and head band showing signs of wear? The pads and band are easily replaceable and by doing so - one could continue to enjoy these fine headphones for years to come. Beyer is even showing replacement drivers...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

NHPD!!! Just received the Sundaras ordered a couple of days ago. Only did a quick listen because, well, priorities. BUT - I'll get to do an extended listen in the morning while everyone else is still asleep. My setup is a Teac UD-501 into a Woo Audio WA6 (2nd Gen). The 2 I already own are a...

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

Listening through a pair of Denon AH-D5000s (25 ohms) plugged into my WA6 as we speak. Very nice combination. The Denons tend to be a bit much as far as bass but when used at a lower volume their attributes really shine through - almost like a built in loudness circuit. Not as revealing as my...
