    AKG N40

Picked these up on the sale, just showed up today. They sound pretty good out of my micro bl. Still burning in, but their fit is phenomenal, and I have weird ears that can be very easily irritated if they aren't shaped right. I feel good about them so far.

    E-MU Wooden Series Headphones

I'll be honest, I would shell out a bit extra to get these cans playing too their price. I would strongly recommend the ifi micro. I love the combination, and you can get it for under $400 new from adorama from time to time. It's really a great dacamp.

It is most likely your amp. I don't know why so many people love that amp, but I couldn't stand it, it was so lean. That would be my guess anyway.

    Sennheiser x Massdrop HD6XX Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

These are practically open they leak so much. They are not a good solution if you want a lot of isolation. Great cans though.

    LG V30

I think the EL-8 Ti are pretty underrated at the closeout prices. They are very clean compared to the other cans I have, which are mostly dark and rolled off on highs. Listening to classical and jazz in particular is fantastic with them, though I am liking just about everything with them. I can...

It sounds great 65 and above. Great cans for isolation. I can listen next to my wife in bed without waking her up. I agree, the cipher cable sucks.

    Ahh OK thanks.

    LG V30

BTW, the EL-8 Titanium sounds great with this phone with an adapter. I'm surprised more people don't like these, especially since the closeout prices have been really good. Perfect work desk combo. Also, since getting oreo, does anyone else not get the message telling which mode the DAC goes to...

Partially open. They leak like crazy.

Was this done on a version with a removable cable already or the old version without? Edit. NVM, just saw the end of your post. Is this harder to do with a pair with removable cables?

Brainwavz Audio B400 4-Way Quad Driver 3D Printed IEM

Phonak pfe single BA driver is still one of my favorite iems. They disappear in my ears better than anything else I own.

Brainwavz Audio B400 4-Way Quad Driver 3D Printed IEM

Just got mine. Was excited to give them a try (though disappointed they didn't come in that awesome lime green), opened the package, took them out, put one in my right ear, then put the other one in my other right ear... oh wait, I only have one right ear and got two right drivers. Well, that's...

    LG V30

Just had an interesting issue pop up. I just got the Brainwavz B400 from BF pre-order. First off, the monkeys sent me two right side drivers, so that was a bad surprise. Undeterred, I flipped one of them around to kind of fit in my left ear to see how they sound. They sound pretty darn good for...

    Sennheiser x Massdrop HD6XX Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

Aside from some muffling of the sound, yes. This is generally the case for open cans, but in the case of these Senns, they are very open with very little isolation. Some open cans have more isolation, but none are built to have efficient isolation, like closed cans. The reason for this is that...

    Sennheiser x Massdrop HD6XX Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

You can hear everything around you and anyone within +-20 feet (depending on listening volume) will hear everything you hear.

Need a recommendation for a closed protable(ish) headphones under 200$

I personally find that headphones that fold flat like the ATs are easier to deal with than the way the VMs fold. They can just slip in along with books instead of bulking up in your bag. But, if you have room at the top of your bag or something like that, the VMs should be fine.

FYI to update anyone just joining the party that may be wondering about tricking the phone into high impedance mode. If you have bought a Trinity audio product in the last few years, they have included in some of their packaging a right angle adapter, and they can also be purchased separately...

That's almost an exact copy of the Ringke case I'm using. Probably not as slim as the clear one posted above, but I wanted something a big more protective.

    LG V30

Nah, I think the bezels on the V30 are perfect. The border touches are largely a Samsung problem because of their curved edges. I feel like the V30 is perfect ergonomically. If you don't like it, put a case on it! I have a DBrand skin to protect the back glass from scratches, but also have case...

    LG V30

That review very much sums up my feelings about this phone. I have not put it down since getting it. The screen is fantastic, with the only annoying part being the color shift at angled views, which I really don't care about. I actually can't stand the screen ratio of Samsungs, the phones are...

It's concerning that lg lost $300m+ on their mobile division list year. I really hope they keep making these phones, but chances are, they will go more mainstream to keep up, or drop high end cell phones altogether.
