DUNU DK-2001 - 3 BA + 1 beryllium DD hybrid: the long-awaited follow-up to the DN-2000 and DN-2000J!
Any chance of a closer comparison betweeg 2001 and 2000J? The latter impressed me with its crispness and precision, but after a while I just missed a bit of warmth.- quartertone

Brainwavz Audio B400 4-Way Quad Driver 3D Printed IEM
Don't forget the LZ A4! It's a bit airier than the B400 and with the right filters it has more sparkle too.- quartertone

Brainwavz Audio B400 4-Way Quad Driver 3D Printed IEM
Trying out different tips is pretty essential here. The stock tips coated everything in warm sauce for me, but SpinFits made the sound more open and crisp. Anyone missing treble presence needs to look into different options.- quartertone

Brainwavz Audio B400 4-Way Quad Driver 3D Printed IEM
I'd encourage anyone who finds the treble too muffled or rolled-off to try SpinFits. I've never been a fan in the past, but here I find them perfect (after slightly shortening the stems) because they add just a little air and light without impairing the smoothness that makes the B400 so...- quartertone

TRINITY - PHANTOM Series - New thread + WORLDS FIRST PUSH PULL HYBRID IEM!*
On a more musical note, I finally tried out the purple filters on the Icarus and I find these the best. More balance and clarity, but still rich. I went back to the stock tips because the bit of warmth they add is no longer excessive with the purple.- quartertone

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
I find the nozzle filters on the A4 are quite varied in this respect; to my ears, the black make the sound more open and balanced than any of the others. As well as the greater presence of upper mids (I think), the soundstage is also larger. My main phones over the last year and a half have been...- quartertone

TRINITY - PHANTOM Series - New thread + WORLDS FIRST PUSH PULL HYBRID IEM!*
I find that they need wider bores than the provided tips, which make them sound too thick and bassy to my ears. I use some that I had in my supply but I don't know where they came from; the Spiral Dot would also be a good bet though. The wide bore gives a more open and balanced sound.- quartertone

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
The LZ have a bigger soundstage and more detail. With black back and front, they manage to combine smoothness and clarity quite beautifully. The Icarus sounds rather congested by comparison. Maybe there's some magic effect that kicks in after 100 hours, but so far the Icarus are in the...- quartertone

TRINITY - PHANTOM Series - New thread + WORLDS FIRST PUSH PULL HYBRID IEM!*
My preordered Icarus III also arrived today. I find they benefit from wider bores and thinner tip material than the kombi or Spinfits, which are pretty warm; I found some suitable tips lying around and they give more space to the treble and mids (with the undamped gold filters). Definitely a...- quartertone

As an alternative to boycotting the company completely, one can also just take the normal consumer route - order products when they exist in stock at some online store like Amazon. Then one knows they're there and doesn't have to dick around with delays and excuses. The big bait from Trinity...- quartertone

The JVC FX850..Woodie perfection?. (A review)
The front mod makes a major difference, transforming them from bass cannons into great all-rounders. The only disadvantage is that the seal is looser (and hence the isolation is even weaker).- quartertone

The JVC FX850..Woodie perfection?. (A review)
Did it and it worked. The result strikes me as a little smoother, more balanced than with the original tips. Admittedly I didn't go back and forth with the spirals once I'd changed, too much hassle with the mod! Also, I got a nice remote cable from sunricky on eBay. Really soft and light...- quartertone
